Google's Find Hub website is now capable of locating a greater number of devices, even in the absence of your phone.

Google's Find Hub website is now capable of locating a greater number of devices, even in the absence of your phone.

Google's Find Hub website has received significant updates, now allowing tracking of tags and headphones, featuring a Material 3 redesign, and introducing remote device controls accessible without needing to touch your phone.

Google has been gradually enhancing Find Hub, and this latest update is a noteworthy advancement. Previously, you could only track phones, tablets, and Wear OS watches on the Find Hub site. Now, it also enables tracking of tags and compatible headphones (such as the Pixel Buds Pro 2).

In brief, you can now find your misplaced earbuds using your laptop without needing your Android phone.

What new features are available on the updated Find Hub website?

There's actually a lot more functionality. The revamped Find Hub site allows users to ring a personal tracker remotely, mark a device as lost, rename it, or even remove it completely, all without interacting with your smartphone.

The desktop interface has been redesigned with Google’s Material 3 features, providing a cleaner and more refined appearance. Even when accessed through a smartphone, the Find Hub website feels just like the native app, making it easy to locate what you need.

While the options are similar to those available in the Android app, the experience of tracking devices across both the mobile app and website remains consistent.

      Why is this update significant?

The reason is straightforward: devices can be lost at any time, regardless of whether your phone is nearby. Being able to access a browser on any laptop or smartphone to locate a tag placed in a bag or headphones left at work is incredibly useful.

Additionally, Google has introduced a “People” tab on the website, simplifying the management of shared location access in one convenient location. Recently, Google has also integrated Find Hub with its Messages app and added a luggage-tracking feature for travel.
