A recent report indicates that Apple's upgraded Studio Display could be released in the first half of 2026.

Apple’s Studio Display is in need of an update. Introduced in 2022, the existing model features a 27-inch 5K IPS display with a 60Hz refresh rate and includes the A13 Bionic chip. Recent leaks suggest Apple is preparing a significant upgrade that may introduce a new chip, a 120Hz display, and HDR support. A new report claims that the updated Studio Display could be launched in the coming months.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman mentions that the new Studio Display "has been in development for some time" and is "expected to launch in the first half of 2026." While Gurman has not provided a specific date, it's possible that Apple could reveal the Studio Display update as soon as March. The original model debuted in March 2022, and it was listed in a regulatory filing about three months prior to its release.

Additionally, an upcoming Apple monitor was seen in a regulatory filing last month, indicating that Apple may adhere to a similar timeline for this new model. Regarding the enhancements, it is rumored that the new Studio Display will feature Apple’s A19 chip, a ProMotion display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR support.

      New MacBooks may soon follow

Gurman also highlights that a more extensive refresh of Apple’s Mac lineup is on the horizon. An updated MacBook Air equipped with the M5 chip is reportedly near release, while M5 Pro and M5 Max versions of the MacBook Pro "have already been prepared in shipping warehouses around the world, ready for launch."

In addition to these updates, Apple seems to be working on a new version of its high-end Pro Display XDR, which is starting to feel outdated. Previous reports suggest this monitor may include a built-in webcam, a 7K resolution display, Thunderbolt 4/5 ports, integrated Apple silicon, and enhancements in display technology. However, it's still unclear when this upgraded version will be available.
