Rokid is offering a more affordable option for wearable control in smart glasses compared to Meta.
Rokid is effectively demonstrating that smart glasses and wearable controls can be offered at prices lower than those of Meta. At CES 2026, the company introduced its new Rokid Style smart glasses and announced a collaboration with Mudra, the startup responsible for the Mudra Link neural wristband.
Rokid focuses on the glasses and AI experience, while Mudra manages neural input via a separate device. Together, these two products provide hands-free computing at a more affordable price than Meta's Ray-Ban glasses and Metal Neural Band.
Rokid Style adopts a display-free design for smart glasses.
Rokid
The Rokid Style glasses stand apart from AR headsets or display-heavy smart glasses since they lack an integrated screen. Instead, Rokid presents the Style as an all-day AI assistant focusing on audio, cameras, and voice interaction.
The glasses are compatible with multiple AI engines, including ChatGPT and DeepSeek, allowing users to choose their preferred assistant rather than being restricted to one. They also work with services like Google Maps and Microsoft AI translation.
Internally, Rokid employs a dual-chip design, combining an NXP RT600 chip for low-power background activities with a Qualcomm AR1 chip for more demanding AI and imaging tasks. Rokid claims this configuration provides up to 12 hours of battery life during regular use.
On the front, there is a 12MP Sony camera capable of recording 4K video in various aspect ratios, which Rokid emphasizes as particularly beneficial for creators. The glasses can capture up to 10 minutes of continuous video.
Weighing just 38.5 grams, Rokid Style is light enough for all-day wear and accommodates prescription lenses, along with options for transition lenses and various frame styles. The glasses will be available for purchase starting January 19 for $299, which is less than the latest $379 Meta Ray-Bans.
Mudra Link offers neural input at a more affordable price than Meta.
Mudra
Mudra Link is a neural wristband that employs electromyography (EMG) to detect subtle finger and wrist motions, translating them into control inputs for connected devices.
Rather than utilizing cameras to track hand gestures, Mudra Link interprets muscle signals directly, allowing users to scroll, select, and interact without the need for screen contact. Priced at approximately $249 (as of this writing), Mudra Link serves as a budget-friendly alternative to Meta's Neural Band.
Together, Rokid Style and Mudra Link provide a modular approach to wearable computing. Instead of requiring users to invest in a single high-cost ecosystem, the two companies offer affordable glasses paired with a specialized neural controller to create meaningful hands-free experiences.
While it may not match the ambition of Meta's long-term AR vision, it presents an accessible option that consumers can purchase, use, and wear immediately.
