      HP has unveiled its newest EliteBook X G2 series, which provides ultra-light portability, robust on-device AI capabilities with options for AMD, Intel, or Snapdragon processors, and enterprise-level security.

      At CES 2026, HP officially launched its EliteBook X G2 series, a high-end laptop range designed for AI-driven tasks. This series distinguishes itself by allowing customers to choose their preferred processing platform: AMD, Intel, or Qualcomm. Additionally, customers can select between a conventional notebook and a convertible model.

      The flagship model is the HP EliteBook X G2q, featuring either the Snapdragon X2 Plus or X2 Elite chip, the latter capable of delivering up to 85 TOPS of neural processing power for on-device AI tasks. The laptop also boasts a 14-inch 3K OLED display with optional 120Hz VRR, as well as configurations of up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 2TB of PCIe storage.

      Next is the EliteBook X G2i, which is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 3 series offering up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance. This model can be configured with a 14-inch 3K OLED display at 120Hz VRR, 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 2TB of PCIe storage. Its entry-level models will weigh less than 1 kilogram, making it one of the lightest options available for business users.

      The EliteBook X G2i also comes in a convertible version, known as the EliteBook X Flip G2i. While most specifications are consistent, the Flip variant features a detachable screen that transforms into a tablet when disconnected from the keyboard base. Moreover, it can be used in laptop, tent, or stand modes.

      Finally, there’s the EliteBook X G2a, which is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470 processor (up to 55 TOPS of NPU performance). Its other features, including screen size, technology, refresh rate, memory options, and storage capabilities are similar to the previously mentioned EliteBook variants.

      All models come pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro and all Copilot+ features. They also promise all-day battery life, which is a significant concern for many users. This new series marks a shift from the standard one-size-fits-all approach to business laptops, introducing a versatile lineup of AI-equipped devices tailored to various user needs.

      The Intel-based EliteBook X G2i and the convertible EliteBook X Flip G2i are "expected" to be available in select configurations starting February 2026, while the EliteBook G2a (AMD) and the flagship EliteBook G2q (Snapdragon) are "anticipated" for release in the spring. Pricing details for the laptops have not yet been disclosed.
