GIGABYTE at CES 2026: updated GiMATE and new AI laptops

GIGABYTE at CES 2026 unveiled an updated AI PC concept that combines a new generation of gaming laptops with a redesigned intelligent interface, GiMATE.

The company is betting not simply on increasing raw system specifications, but on building a coherent ecosystem in which computing resources, usage scenarios and the user experience are governed by artificial intelligence algorithms. At the GIGABYTE booth the centerpiece of this strategy was the updated GiMATE — a proprietary AI agent deeply integrated into the laptops’ hardware and software platform and aimed at advanced gamers, content creators and developers.

The new version of GiMATE features a redesigned interface that consolidates system status information and management tools in a single window, minimizing the need for manual adjustments and navigation through numerous menus. A strong emphasis was placed on voice control: GiMATE can interpret natural voice commands and quickly apply configuration changes, reducing the time between deciding and the system’s actual response. Essentially, GiMATE becomes the laptop’s intelligent dispatcher, tuning hardware modes to the user’s current tasks — from resource‑intensive rendering to everyday office workloads.

As GiMATE evolves, so does the ecosystem for managing performance and power consumption behind it. The key innovation is AI Power Gear III, which elevates control over the graphics subsystem and power modes to a new level. Users get direct but AI‑automated control over switching between discrete and hybrid GPU modes through the GiMATE interface. In automatic mode, when running on battery power the system can fully shut off the discrete GPU to maximize battery life without user intervention. Optimus mode targets a balance between performance and battery life, while Eco is aimed at maximum energy savings both on AC power and battery. Thus AI Power Gear III turns the power profile into a dynamic tool that adapts to usage context rather than remaining a static set of presets.

A separate direction in GiMATE’s development is support for creative and engineering workflows. The GiMATE Creator module expands tools for content creators by integrating the powerful generative model Qwen‑Image. This opens up the possibility of local or hybrid image generation on the laptop itself: creating concept art, sketches and visual ideas for video and advertising materials can be done in a single environment without switching between third‑party services. For developers and students learning programming, GiMATE Coder is an AI assistant able to write, fix and optimize code from simple text prompts. This positioning turns GIGABYTE laptops into a universal tool for working with AI models both at the application level and the infrastructure level, speeding development iterations and lowering the barrier to entry for programming.

The hardware foundation of the updated AI‑PC concept comprises three new laptop models that combine high performance with a reduced chassis thickness. The flagship of the line is the AORUS MASTER 16, built around an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor and configurable with graphics up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090. At the same time the laptop is housed in an ultrathin chassis just 19 mm thick, 17% thinner than the previous generation. The use of mobile GPUs from the GeForce RTX 50 series on the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture targets tasks where not only frame rates matter but also AI acceleration: from ray tracing with NVIDIA DLSS 4 support to complex workflows in creative applications. DLSS 4 support can multiply performance through smart upscaling, accelerated frame generation and improved visual quality, while the NVIDIA Studio platform unlocks the system’s potential for professional tasks — from video editing to 3D modeling.

To ensure stable operation of such a powerful configuration in a thin chassis, GIGABYTE employs the flagship WINDFORCE Infinity EX cooling system. It is built around a large vapor chamber and an asymmetric Frost Fan, which more effectively remove heat from key components, keeping CPU and GPU frequencies high during long sessions. For the target audience of the AORUS MASTER 16 this means the ability to work and play demanding projects without performance drops due to overheating, which has traditionally been a weakness of ultrathin gaming devices.

The second key new product is the GIGABYTE AERO X16, aimed at content creators and mobile professionals who need a balance of power, battery life and weight. The laptop uses AMD Ryzen AI 400 series processors, designed with an emphasis on integrating AI acceleration at the platform level. This provides high responsiveness for multitasking workflows, improved energy efficiency and hardware acceleration of AI algorithms — from noise suppression and real‑time image enhancement to local execution of generative models. Combined with GiMATE Creator and GiMATE Coder, the AERO X16 acts as a universal mobile workstation for photographers, video editors, designers and developers who need access to AI tools out of the box without complex manual configuration.

Rounding out the refreshed lineup is the GIGABYTE GAMING A18 PRO — a laptop positioned as a balanced solution for gamers, creators and users exploring AI tools. Equipped with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 and maintaining a chassis thickness of 20 mm, this system focuses on stable performance and versatility. The GAMING A18 PRO is designed for a wide range of tasks: from modern games that actively use AI rendering features to media processing applications and early experiments with generative models. Thanks to integration into GIGABYTE’s overall AI ecosystem — including GiMATE, AI Power Gear III and dedicated modules for creators and developers — the new model becomes a logical choice for those who want access to modern AI scenarios without unnecessary complication of the system configuration.
