At CES 2026, TCL introduced a new addition to its NXTPAPER series — the NXTPAPER 70 Pro — which boasts several display modes (the phone's standout feature), enhanced specifications, and an attractive price.

The NXTPAPER 70 Pro's standout feature is its 6.9-inch display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It may sound like a typical smartphone display, right?

Three display modes with a user-friendly screen

The latest model in the NXTPAPER line, similar to its predecessor, showcases a matte-finish screen that eliminates the glare typically found on standard smartphones and tablets, giving it a paper-like look. This feature makes the display distraction-free, especially in areas with overhead lighting.

But that's not all. The phone includes NXTPAPER technology, allowing users to toggle between three distinct display modes (which is far from a mere gimmick). The first mode is Color Paper, which maintains maximum vibrancy, letting you use the phone like a conventional smartphone.

Next is the Ink Paper mode, presenting a black-and-white, e-reader-style theme for the Android interface. The Max Ink mode transforms the smartphone into an e-reader. This launcher enables the device to serve as a monochrome e-reader for up to seven days of reading and offers 26 days of standby time.

Max Ink mode also provides specialized AI-based reading tools, including AI Outline, AI Q&A, AI Audiobook, and AI Podcast. To facilitate an easy switch between modes, the phone includes an NXTPAPER Key on the right side. When used with the T-Pen stylus, it offers a realistic note-taking experience.

Regarding the other specifications of the NXTPAPER 70 Pro, it is powered by the Dimensity 7300 chipset with 8GB of RAM, features a 50MP (f/2.0) main camera with optical image stabilization, a 32MP front camera, and a 5,200 mAh battery that supports 33W fast wired charging. It runs on Android 16 out of the box.

Currently, the company has revealed the smartphone's European pricing: EUR 339 (approximately $400) for the base model with 256GB of storage and EUR 389 for the 512GB variant (around $456). The NXTPAPER 70 Pro will be available in the United States, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe starting February 2026.
