You might never need to recharge a smart lock again.

Lockin has made a significant impact at CES 2026 with the introduction of the V7 Max, a smart lock that resembles advanced consumer technology more than traditional door hardware. It even received the “Best of Innovation” award. Notably, it is the first smart lock globally to completely eliminate batteries, utilizing wireless optical charging, thereby alleviating the common worry of “low battery” for homeowners.

The V7 Max operates on Lockin's innovative AuraCharge technology. Rather than requiring battery replacements or USB-C connections every few months, it obtains power wirelessly from an indoor base station using safe optical beams. It functions effectively at a distance of up to four meters, providing a consistent energy supply that doesn't rely on sunlight like older solar-powered models.

Addressing safety concerns, Lockin has obtained certifications from TÜV Rheinland and SGS, confirming that the optical beam is safe for both humans and pets. It operates on a “set it and forget it” basis, working flawlessly in various light conditions, whether in a dim corridor or a shaded entrance.

When it comes to security, the V7 Max truly justifies its “Pro” label. It employs triple biometric authentication, integrating palm vein recognition, finger vein scanning, and 3D facial recognition. Vein recognition is regarded as a premier security measure as it analyzes patterns under the skin, making it nearly impossible to replicate with a photograph or high-definition fingerprint.

Additionally, the lock incorporates LockinAI, which functions as a digital gatekeeper for your entrance. It can differentiate between neighbors and delivery personnel, alert you if someone appears to be hanging around with ill intent, and even catalog your video footage, allowing searches by terms like “red car” or “package delivery” instead of sifting through extensive recordings.

From a design perspective, the V7 Max, created by Hartmut Esslinger (known for Apple’s early “Snow White” design), showcases an impressively thin profile of just 15mm and is equipped with dual 5-inch touchscreens on both sides of the door. It also functions as a high-quality video doorbell with twin HD cameras to provide a complete panoramic view of your doorstep.

Crucially, it is compatible with the Matter standard right out of the box. This ensures seamless integration with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings without the need for a specific bridge or hub.

Lockin has also unveiled an upgraded version of their top-selling Veno Pro Wireless, now featuring AuraCharge. For users who favor solar energy, they have previewed the Aeon, a solar-powered lock that utilizes next-generation perovskite panels capable of charging even on cloudy days.

The V7 Max is anticipated to begin shipping in early 2026, with preorders set to open immediately after the conclusion of the show on Amazon and the official Lockin website.
