Gemini's newest update simplifies the process of finding local hotspots.
The updated interface provides essential details, summary reviews, and more at a quick glance.
Google has begun to roll out a new upgrade for Gemini on both desktop and mobile, enhancing how it presents information from Google Maps. Rather than displaying a lengthy text followed by a map view with pins at the end, Gemini can now present Google Maps results “in a visually rich format” that allows users to access “photos, ratings, and real-world information.”
When users inquire about nearby locations such as restaurants, parks, or attractions, Gemini now features an interactive map at the top with themed pins indicating various places. Each location is showcased with a unique card that includes images and a star rating, followed by a text answer relevant to the user’s query. This adjustment simplifies the comparison of options at a glance, eliminating the need to scroll through extensive lists or switch to the Google Maps app for more details.

By tapping on a location card, users can view a Gemini summary based on reviews from Google Maps for that particular place. This summary features additional cards such as “People talk most about,” “People go here for,” “Review summary,” and “Tips from reviewers.” As indicated, these cards reveal popular points from reviews, an overall review summary, and shared advice from reviewers. Google Maps has recently undergone a similar update introducing Gemini-powered “Know before you go” tips based on user reviews and local data.
The revised Google Maps interface in Gemini began rolling out on desktop and mobile over the weekend, but it is currently only available in English. You can test it out by asking Gemini for recommendations on nearby restaurants or attractions. This update enhances Gemini as a practical resource for real-world information about local hot spots, making it a helpful tool for exploration, planning, and deciding on your next destination.

Gemini's Nano Banana now transforms your selfie into a full-body avatar for online try-ons.
Google's enhanced AI try-on feature now requires just a single selfie to create a realistic full-body avatar, streamlining virtual clothing shopping, making it more personal, and improving accuracy.
Google is revamping its AI-driven visual try-on tool, and the most exciting development is that you no longer need a full-body photo for it to work. Utilizing the company's Nano Banana model (part of the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image suite), the tool turns a single selfie into a full-body digital avatar for trying on clothing, operating seamlessly across Google Search and Shopping.
Simply upload a selfie and select your regular size; Nano Banana will provide several avatars. Using your facial features, the AI generates the rest of your body while keeping proportions consistent. Choose the avatar that resembles you best and use it to try on shirts, jackets, dresses, and more.
