Google will repair your defective Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL display at no cost.
Google has introduced a new extended repair program for the Pixel 9 Pro series after acknowledging a display defect present in some models.
On December 8, 2025, Google discreetly launched an "Extended Repair Program" for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. A small number of devices in this series have reported display problems. Additionally, the company has initiated an "Extended Warranty Program" for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
The criteria for eligibility in the repair program are quite unusual, as it necessitates a "vertical line on the display" that "extends from bottom to top." Moreover, "display flicker on the Pixel 9 Pro devices is also a qualifying issue." Google points out that cracked displays or cover glasses and damage like liquid intrusion could render a device ineligible.
While the problems affecting the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are clearly defined, Google has not provided specific details regarding the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. According to the official support page, "Google offers an extended warranty program to provide support coverage for affected Pixel 9 Pro Fold devices for 3 years from the date of original retail purchase."
The page also indicates that owners of affected Pixel 9 Pro Fold devices "may be eligible for a replacement at no cost." This initiative represents Google's most significant post-launch support effort for its flagship Pixel phones, including the foldable model. By recognizing a hardware defect and offering repair or replacement without additional charges, the company is emphasizing its commitment to long-term customer trust.
If you possess one of the three smartphones—the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold—and are experiencing issues such as a vertical line, flickering, or other hardware-related problems, you can have it repaired at no cost. Simply visit the support pages linked above, select "Check repair options," and input your IMEI or serial number to initiate the repair process.
The effectiveness and customer satisfaction of this repair program may establish a new standard for Google's after-sales service, particularly for older models.

A foldable iPhone is on the way, likely to change perceptions of foldable devices forever. Apple’s foldable iPhone has reportedly entered its final testing stage and could launch next year. The long-rumored "iPhone Fold" appears to be a reality now, as it has reportedly progressed to its final engineering and pre-production phase, according to a new report from the Economic Daily News. Sources from the supply chain indicate that Apple has completed the experimental stage and is now making final adjustments. This strongly suggests that the company plans to have this device available by late 2026.
Apple has quietly removed the Night Mode Portraits feature from the iPhone 17 Pro models, leaving users confused. This feature, which has been a staple since 2020, has vanished without explanation, prompting users to raise concerns on Reddit and Apple’s forums. Apple has now confirmed through a support document that Night Mode Portraits are absent from the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max.
People often remark on how the iPhone "just works," noting its speed, fluidity, and user-friendliness. For those who enjoy extensive customization, Android may be the preferred choice, allowing users to tinker with custom ROMs. However, this does not mean the iPhone lacks impressive features. In fact, it is capable of executing sophisticated multi-step automations, with the Shortcuts app being a prime example. This pre-installed app is particularly noteworthy, especially with its enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities.
