What’s going on? Samsung has launched the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series, allowing users to preview the upcoming software update before its stable release set for early next year.
In a blog entry, the company detailed several updates that will be included in the release, such as improvements to the Photo Assist feature, enhancements to Quick Share, better device connectivity, and more.
One UI 8.5 will introduce a new Storage Share feature, enabling users to access files from other Samsung devices using the My Files app.
Moreover, Samsung has announced new theft protection features included in the update for Galaxy devices, such as Failed Authentication Lock and Identity Check.
Why is this significant? The One UI 8.5 beta program offers Galaxy S25 users the opportunity to test forthcoming features.
It will also enable Samsung to collect input from beta testers to enhance upcoming features and resolve any bugs prior to the stable update.
The beta launch suggests that Samsung plans to roll out One UI 8.5 to older devices soon after it reveals the Galaxy S26 series early next year.
