'Regular Animals' showcase in Art Basel's Inaugural AI Sector, Zero10
If you're prone to nervousness, you might want to skip this article. It's about some of the most unsettling robots to have ever existed—except perhaps for this one.
Situated in a new art exhibition at Art Basel Miami, the robotic dogs feature eerily lifelike replicas of the heads of prominent tech figures—like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos. Iconic artists Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso also make appearances.

Things get even stranger. As part of the exhibit titled Regular Animals, these camera-equipped robots roam around a small enclosure and occasionally squat to produce an AI-generated print reminiscent of a Polaroid, showing the onlookers. Each occurrence triggers an LED display on the dog’s back that announces “Poop mode.”
Guests can take one of the “poops” or certificates, which declare that the work has been “tested and verified as 100% pure GMO-free, organic dog waste originating from a medium adult dog anus.”
This peculiar presentation is the creation of digital artist Mike Winkelmann, better known as Beeple, celebrated for his grotesque, satirical 3D artworks and animations that merge pop culture, politics, and dystopian themes. He famously earned $69 million from his NFT sale of Everydays: The First 5000 Days in 2021.

"What if the experience of viewing art was no longer a one-way interaction, but instead part of a feedback loop where the artwork observes, learns, and remembers us in return?" Beeple discusses his latest installation, presumably referring to the robot’s outputs.
In statements reported by The Art Newspaper, Beeple added, “This is AI reinterpreting the images based on what the robot sees. There’s an analogy; we will increasingly view the world through AI. We're also perceiving the world through the perspectives of artists and tech leaders like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, who influence what we see more than anyone else.”
If you're near Miami and want to experience the unsettling presence of these robotic dogs firsthand, you should act quickly. Regular Animals is part of Art Basel’s new Zero 10 digital art section and runs until Sunday, December 7.

Do you remember when Intel introduced its Arrow Lake-S desktop processors (the Core Ultra 200S series) late last year? The initial reception was somewhat lukewarm. However, new data indicates that it has been gradually improving.
According to recent benchmarks from Phoronix, the flagship Core Ultra 9 285K is currently operating approximately 9% faster on average under Linux compared to its initial performance. The interesting part? It's achieving this while consuming 15% less power.
Your Firefox tabs can soon include personal notes
Firefox introduces tab notes so your 47 open tabs can stop scrutinizing you
If you tend to keep 50 tabs open and can’t recall the reason for half of them, Firefox may have found a solution. Mozilla is quietly trialing a new "Add Note" feature in the latest experimental version of the browser (Firefox Nightly). It’s quite straightforward: simply right-click on any tab, select "Add Note," and enter a brief reminder for yourself. A small notepad icon will then appear beside the tab title to indicate a note is present.
