You can utilize the Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold as a desktop computer without the need for an external monitor.
A foldable phone that can serve as a portable workstation

What’s new? Samsung has recently introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold, which is the first Galaxy device capable of running Samsung DeX directly on its 10-inch internal display. For those who are unfamiliar, DeX is Samsung’s desktop-like interface that transforms your phone’s applications into resizable windows, providing a computing environment similar to that of a desktop. It effectively allows your phone to function like a PC when you require additional screen space and enhanced multitasking capabilities.
Why is this significant? Previously, running DeX on phones generally required an external display (like a monitor or TV) to create a “desktop” experience. The TriFold completely transforms this by featuring a 10-inch screen that can operate DeX directly, allowing the device to function as a tablet-like workspace that conveniently fits into your pocket.
With One UI 8.0, Samsung has implemented its comprehensive DeX experience over Android 16’s Desktop Mode, bringing the TriFold much closer to a conventional desktop computer.
You can easily initiate DeX from the Quick Settings panel, providing up to four distinct workspaces, each able to run five applications simultaneously.
Need more display space? The TriFold also supports Extended Mode, enabling you to connect to an external monitor, seamlessly drag and drop applications between screens, and utilize dual displays similar to a PC setup.
Additionally, you can connect a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, transforming the TriFold into a complete portable workstation ready for intensive projects or creative tasks.
Why is this relevant to you? With the TriFold, multitasking offers significantly greater flexibility. Thanks to Samsung's design featuring dual hinges, a shock-resistant foldable display, and a powerful processor, you gain portability without the usual drawbacks.
You can work on a presentation in one window, review documents in another, engage in a chat in a third, and stream a video in the fourth, all without needing to switch devices.
For those in need of a versatile productivity tool, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold truly evolves into a genuine workstation.
