**Official Livestream | Galaxy S25 Edge: Beyond Slim | Samsung**

Samsung has officially introduced its thinnest Galaxy S series smartphone to date, the Galaxy S25 Edge. The South Korean technology giant presented the new device through an online video event that commenced at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, May 12.

If you missed the 14-minute presentation, you can view it via the video player embedded at the top of this page.

Hosted by Hubert Lee, head of Samsung’s mobile eXperience Design team, the video showcases the high production quality expected from such a launch. “Slim, sleek, and lightweight, without compromising what you love,” is how Lee describes the Galaxy S25 Edge. The new model is just 5.8mm in thickness and weighs 163 grams — in comparison, the S25 Plus has the same 6.7-inch display but is 7.3mm thick and weighs 190 grams.

Digital Trends’ mobile expert Andy Boxall has already had the opportunity to experience Samsung’s latest flagship, describing it as “something special” that “looks unlike any other smartphone currently available.”

With the new device, Samsung is targeting consumers who value portability, aesthetics, and premium design while still delivering flagship-level performance. Bulkier phones can be cumbersome to handle over long periods, making the Edge an appealing choice for many.

The Galaxy S25 Edge comes in Titanium Jetblack, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Icyblue and starts at a price of $1,099. It will be available from May 23, with preorders commencing on May 13.

“The Galaxy S25 Edge is more than just a slim smartphone,” stated Samsung executive TM Roh in a press release. “The exceptional engineering behind this groundbreaking device showcases our dedication to overcoming barriers, allowing Galaxy to offer genuinely unexpected premium experiences to people worldwide.”

Roh continued, stating that the S25 Edge not only represents a significant advancement for its category but also stimulates crucial innovation throughout the mobile industry.

Now that the Edge has been launched, attention is anticipated to shift back to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air, their own version of a slim flagship. It remains to be seen how it will compete with the newly launched Edge — we’ll have to wait until the fall for that answer, when it is expected to debut.

**The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Could Be Arriving Soon**

Good news for Samsung enthusiasts: the Galaxy S25 FE is likely to launch before the year's end. Since the Galaxy S20, Samsung has released a Fan Edition (FE) of its major flagship annually, with the only exception being 2021. Though news of the Galaxy S25 FE isn’t entirely new — it has been leaked multiple times previously — SamMobile has recently discovered the firmware for the US version, easing concerns that Samsung might skip this generation. Some fans worried that the introduction of the Galaxy S25 Edge could mean no Fan Edition would be available in 2025.

According to SamMobile, the US model of the Galaxy S25 FE is identified by the model number SM-S731U and firmware version S731USQU0AYDH. While this information may not mean much by itself, it serves as a unique identifier, confirming that a US model is forthcoming. If Samsung adheres to its historical timeline, the Galaxy S25 FE is expected to launch around September or October.
