GTA 6 has officially been postponed, but we now have a confirmed release date.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the release of GTA 6 has been postponed, while also announcing the new date when the eagerly awaited game will be launched.

The release date for GTA 6 is now set for May 26, 2026, which is significantly later than the initial 'Fall 2025' window provided in the first trailer that was released back in December 2023.

This news will undoubtedly disappoint fans, and Rockstar has expressed its regret in a statement on its website, acknowledging that the delay is due to the studio needing "extra time to achieve the quality you expect and deserve."

      Surpassing expectations

In their statement, Rockstar further noted, "with each game we’ve launched, our aim has consistently been to exceed your expectations, and Grand Theft Auto VI is no different."

Although fans may feel let down by the delay, some may have anticipated it. The positive aspect, however, is that we now have a definitive release date for GTA 6 to mark on our calendars, even if it is still 389 days away.

The hope is that with Rockstar providing a precise release date, they will avoid further delays, although that can never be completely guaranteed.

Rockstar concluded their message by stating, "we look forward to sharing more updates with you soon," so perhaps a second trailer could be on the horizon? Time will tell.

In the meantime, why not rewatch the GTA 6 trailer for nostalgia? Just remember to close your eyes at 1:24 to skip the "Coming 2025" text.

Grand Theft Auto 6 has offered a minor teaser, and we’re willing to take anything we can get.

The distinction between a teaser and an Easter egg can be quite subtle, and this has been illustrated recently with a necklace featured in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. A user on the GTA 6 subreddit (via Gamespot) observed that a necklace introduced in the game's initial trailer is also now available for purchase in the recently released Bottom Dollar Bounties update for Grand Theft Auto Online, which added bail enforcement on June 25. Known as the "Silver Layered Necklace," it appears to be just one of many items that have transitioned into the franchise's online mode, according to a Redditor commenting on the post.

The best GTA 5 roleplay servers

GTA 5 allows players to experience their more chaotic and destructive fantasies, but the game isn’t confined to merely criminal activities within Rockstar Games' universe. The single-player mode offers a wealth of content, but venturing online truly expands the possibilities. Role-play servers, or RP servers, alter the game and its rules, requiring players to fully immerse themselves in the characters they choose. For instance, if you play a police officer, reckless driving and shooting civilians wouldn't be appropriate. However, simply joining an online lobby doesn’t guarantee everyone will adhere to the rules; you’ll need to join specific RP servers to enjoy the authentic experience. While we await GTA 6, here are some of the best role-play servers available. Note that all RP servers require access via the FiveM or Rage MP clients, which must be downloaded separately.

All Rockstar video games: comprehensive list of developed and published games

While it may seem like an extravagant title, Rockstar Games truly stands out in the gaming industry. The developer is behind one of the most significant and profitable gaming franchises in history, namely the Grand Theft Auto series. Although they are best known for this open-world crime series, Rockstar has explored a variety of genres and styles as a publisher since their first game in 1997. Although their output has slowed down, with more than an eight-year gap between Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6, their portfolio boasts over 40 released games. While this history is extensive, it’s crucial to grasp the full scope before determining which games are the best.

      All Rockstar-developed games

Originally named DMA Design, Rockstar has been engaged in game development and publishing since 1997 and shows no signs of halting its activities anytime soon. Excluding any remasters or re-releases, here’s a complete list of games developed and published by Rockstar, categorized by whether the game was developed by a studio with Rockstar in its name or co-developed.
