A leak regarding the Galaxy S25 Edge showcases a design that resembles that of the iPhone Air.
Two eagerly awaited smartphone models are set to be released before the year concludes: Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple’s iPhone 17 Air. Recently unveiled images of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is slated for release this month, show a notable similarity to the rumored images of the iPhone 17 Air, expected to launch in September.
The Galaxy S25 Edge, teased by Samsung earlier this year, is set to debut on May 13. Upon its release, it is predicted to be one of the thinnest smartphones available globally.
Recent images from WinFuture confirm that the new device is indeed sleek, likely measuring around 5.85 millimeters in thickness. It is expected to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display featuring a resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate of 120 Hertz.
On the rear, there will be a vertically aligned dual-camera setup, which includes a 200MP primary sensor for exceptional photography and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The front is expected to house a 12MP camera for taking selfies and conducting video calls.
Internally, the Galaxy S25 Edge will likely be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring efficient performance and multitasking capabilities. It will offer 12GB of RAM and storage choices of 256GB and 512GB.
Now, let’s shift our focus to the iPhone 17 Air.
According to the latest rumors, this phone will likely be around 5.5mm thick, have a 6.6-inch LTPO display, and be powered by the upcoming Apple A19 chipset. The first-generation iPhone Air is expected to feature a single rear camera, unlike the dual rear camera seen on the Galaxy S25 Edge. The camera on the back is anticipated to be horizontally positioned, which may remind some of the Google Pixel 9.
When viewed from the side, the iPhone 17 Air and Galaxy S25 Edge also bear a resemblance.
Clearly, the devices do not share identical designs. However, when you compare each phone’s design with its likely specifications, the similarities become evident. Naturally, when discussing slim devices, how different can they truly look? Not by much.
With its arrival, the Galaxy S25 Edge will become the fourth addition to the Galaxy S25 series, joining the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be announced in September alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
