Samsung's anticipated flagship smartphone is drawing nearer to its expected launch, and as we approach the date, more specifications are being revealed. Today, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge may feature a camera that can compete with those of larger devices.
The information originates from SammyGuru, which discovered a notable detail in a Samsung shipping document. The publication indicates that the S25 Edge will sport the same selfie camera as the other models in the S25 series, suggesting positive news for this Android flagship. While one might assume that a more compact device would compromise camera quality, that doesn't seem to be the situation here.
This implies a 12MP selfie camera, and SammyGuru mentions that it will have a 1/3.2-inch sensor. This is the identical type of camera found in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which should deliver high-quality selfies for this smaller smartphone. It remains uncertain if the camera will use the same sensor as the S25 Ultra, but it’s likely.
If this information holds true, it would be an enhancement over earlier rumors regarding the S25 Edge's selfie camera, which previously suggested a lower 10MP resolution. It now appears we may receive the same 12MP camera as the S25 Ultra. Our review of the device did not find the main camera particularly impressive, but the specifications for the S25 Edge remain to be clarified. The ultrawide camera could feature either a 12MP or a 50MP sensor, and there are speculations that the primary camera may also be shared with the S25 Ultra, with rumors pointing to a 200MP model.
Regarding internal specifications, the device is reported to be exceptionally thin, measuring just 5.8mm. There is also speculation that it will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite “For Galaxy” chip, similar to the other models in the lineup, along with 12GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be unveiled on May 13 during an Unpacked event, with pre-orders starting on May 24.

Samsung’s One UI 7 update makes the Galaxy S24 Ultra feel like new
I had been checking the Software Update section on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra for several days, eagerly awaiting the arrival of One UI 7. Then, on the morning of April 10, it became available, and I quickly installed it. Samsung’s One UI 7 software over Android 15 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra is a significant success—what will it be like on the flagship Galaxy phone of 2024?
Not a substantial update?
To my surprise, the One UI 7 update on the Galaxy S24 Ultra was modest in size, downloading and installing in less than three minutes without any problems. Apart from a couple of setup screens to get through—one for accessing Google Gemini and another displaying the new Galaxy AI features—my phone was back in action almost immediately.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 may arrive with a significantly better camera
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 might replace its under-display camera (UDC) with a more conventional pinhole camera, according to reputable tipster yeux1122. The under-display technology has been a favored option for Samsung, yet it is primarily utilized in the Galaxy Z Fold series. UDCs offer a smooth, streamlined look but often lack the quality found in dedicated cameras. Yeux1122 shared this information on Naver, a Korean blog site, suggesting that under-display cameras are not as cost-effective as other alternatives. Given the current economic situation, he indicates that Apple has delayed the integration of this technology in its devices, and Samsung's Galaxy division "is also moving in a similar direction." Part of this shift is attributed to costs, but another factor is that Samsung is reportedly facing challenges in enhancing the camera's technical aspects.
