The Epic Games Store has reintroduced Flappy Bird, the popular game that requires players to tap the screen repeatedly to navigate a bird through pipes and other obstacles, to Android devices more than a decade after its original removal.

As reported by Polygon, Flappy Bird Publishing has relaunched Flappy Bird as an Android-exclusive title with assistance from Epic Games, following the game's withdrawal from Apple’s App Store and Google Play Store by developer Dong Nguyen in 2014. Last year, Nguyen stated that he was not involved in the game's revival nor was he benefitting from it financially.

In a news release on Tuesday, Flappy Bird Publishing announced that Flappy Bird will receive updates featuring “worlds, characters, and themes throughout 2025.” They also indicated that the game will be monetized “exclusively through ads and in-game purchases,” specifically helmets. Players can view the trailer for this Android-exclusive return of the classic game.

Reviving Flappy Bird came with its own set of challenges, some of which sparked controversy. Last September, Flappy Bird Foundation attempted to re-release the game via the Telegram messaging app but later removed that information from its Linktree page. Subsequently, cryptocurrency researcher Varun Biniwale reported that Flappy Bird was being redesigned with web3 and NFT elements by a crypto company named 1208 Productions, which holds the NFT brand Deez. Meanwhile, clones of the game have emerged in the decade since its removal.

Three days afterward, Nguyen posted on X (formerly Twitter), condemning the game's remake due to its association with crypto, which he claimed to oppose. He also clarified that he did not sell Flappy Bird or its trademark to Flappy Bird Foundation; instead, the group purchased it directly.

Now that Flappy Bird is once again available, fans can experience one of the most beloved games of the 2010s, alongside Angry Birds, in an entirely new format.

**It’s almost 2025, and it’s time to end the Android vs. iPhone debate**

I owned the iPhone 11 for over four years. It was my first iPhone and accompanied me through the COVID-19 pandemic and two trips abroad—one to Hawaii and another to Spain. When it was time to upgrade, my whole family naturally gravitated toward the iPhone 16. I, however, wanted to get the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, but that did not happen, and the reason is quite frustrating.

The Nothing Phone 2 will receive the update in November, while the Nothing Phone 1, Nothing Phone 2a Plus, and Nothing CMF Phone 1 will have to wait until December.

**Earth Defense Force 6 just removed its controversial requirement**

While feedback on Earth Defense Force 6, the latest installment in the violent sci-fi shooter series, has been mostly positive, many PC players expressed dissatisfaction with the requirement to log in with an Epic Games account for online co-op gameplay. Fortunately, the developers have some good news. On Thursday, developer Sandlot released a small update on Steam that eliminated this requirement, allowing players to embark on online missions without needing an Epic Games account. "This application has been modified so that you can play online missions without signing into your Epic Games Account," the post states.
