Alienware's latest 34-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor is quicker and more affordable than its predecessor.

      Alienware has introduced the AW3425DW, a successor to the popular AW3423DW that launched in 2023. This new 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitor features Samsung’s second-generation QD-OLED panel. It boasts a resolution of 3440 x 1440 and offers a refresh rate of 240Hz with a 0.03ms GTG (Gray-to-Gray) response time, providing fast, responsive gameplay suitable for competitive gaming while ensuring excellent visual quality.

      The AW3425DW is compatible with both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, as well as VESA AdaptiveSync. This wide compatibility allows for smooth, tear-free gaming experiences. The display features 99.3% DCI-P3 color coverage, peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, promising deep contrast and vibrant visuals. The monitor has an 1800R curve to enhance immersion and includes connectivity options such as DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, USB-A, and USB-C with up to 15W charging capability.

      With a price tag of $799, the AW3425DW is currently available in the U.S. and is expected to reach other markets. Similar to its predecessor, it includes a three-year burn-in warranty, a particularly notable feature for OLED monitors due to concerns regarding long-term image retention.

The design has also been refreshed, moving from Alienware’s previous Lunar Light finish to a darker Interstellar Indigo color scheme with slimmer bezels, reflecting the brand’s updated aesthetic.

      The most significant change is the price. The AW3425DW launches at $799, notably lower than the AW3423DW’s original pricing of $1,299. This makes it a more affordable option for gamers interested in QD-OLED technology without the hefty price tag. Notably, the original AW3423DW has experienced price reductions since its release, now also available for $799.

      It’s well-known that Alienware produces some of the top gaming monitors, but it isn't without competition. Following the release of the Alienware 34 QD-OLED two years ago, numerous competing models have emerged from brands like Asus, LG, MSI, Samsung, and others. Two years later, with a new generation of OLED monitors available, Alienware still leads in the OLED gaming monitor market. Much of this can be attributed to the significant concern new buyers have regarding burn-in. The risk of burn-in is a real worry, even if it isn't as critical as some portray it, and most customers prefer to have reassurance.
