Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith is set to return to theaters later this month for a special 20th anniversary rerelease.
Revenge of the Sith will be shown in select U.S. and international theaters for one week only, starting on April 25. Tickets are currently available for purchase at Fandango.com. The theater chains featuring the film include AMC, Alamo Drafthouse, B&B, Cinemark, Fandango, Galaxy, Harkins, Marcus, Megaplex, and Regal Showcase. Viewers can watch Revenge of the Sith in different formats, including 4DX.
In addition, Lucasfilm has unveiled a new poster for Episode III. Designed by graphic artist Matt Ferguson, the poster showcases Anakin Skywalker preparing to carry out Order 66. Behind him is Darth Vader's mask, with his iconic lightsaber duel against Obi-Wan Kenobi featured above the film's title.
Revenge of the Sith marks the final installment in the prequel trilogy. Written and directed by George Lucas, the film is set three years after the beginning of the Clone Wars. Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) continues his training with Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), but their bond becomes strained as Anakin grows closer to Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid). Meanwhile, Padmé Amidala, Anakin’s wife, secretly married at the conclusion of Attack of the Clones, is pregnant with twins.
Revenge of the Sith portrays the collapse of the Republic and the emergence of the Galactic Empire. More crucially, Anakin fully succumbs to the dark side and becomes Emperor Palpatine’s new apprentice, Darth Vader.
The cast of Episode III also includes Frank Oz, Jimmy Smits, Peter Mayhew, Ahmed Best, Oliver Ford Davies, Temuera Morrison, Anthony Daniels, Silas Carson, Kenny Baker, Samuel L. Jackson, and Christopher Lee.
While the prequel trilogy was commercially successful, it faced considerable criticism upon release. Nonetheless, Revenge of the Sith is frequently regarded as the best film in the trilogy.
All entries in the prequel trilogy and every other Star Wars film can be streamed on Disney+.

Daisy Ridley's standalone Star Wars film has brought on the Bourne Ultimatum screenwriter.
Star Wars: New Jedi Order was first announced nearly two years ago, and now, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a new screenwriter has joined the project. George Nolfi, who is recognized for writing the screenplays for The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean's 12, has been selected to write this film, which is anticipated to center on Daisy Ridley's Rey from the sequel trilogy.
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, a documentary filmmaker, is slated to make her narrative feature debut with this project, which takes place 15 years after the events of the sequel trilogy and focuses on Rey as she trains a new generation of young Jedi. Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were the original writers for the project before Obaid-Chinoy became involved. When Ridley was confirmed to reprise her role for the film, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight was brought in to revise the script.
Ryan Gosling is in discussions to join Shawn Levy’s Star Wars film.
The galaxy is about to experience some Kenergy as Ryan Gosling expresses interest in a role within the Star Wars universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gosling is negotiating to lead a Star Wars movie being directed by Shawn Levy, known for Deadpool and Wolverine.
As with most Star Wars projects, plot specifics are being kept under wraps. However, it has been confirmed that this film will be a standalone story independent from the Skywalker Saga. Jonathan Tropper, who collaborated with Levy on both This Is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project, is writing the script.
Gosling's potential involvement is significant for Lucasfilm. If he finalizes his agreement, Levy's movie will proceed to production, with an aim to start shooting this fall. Additionally, Gosling's participation means that Star Wars will take precedence over Levy's previous project, Boy Band, which he had hoped to collaborate on with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
