Leaked images of the Oblivion remaster indicate that its release may be imminent.
This is the trailer for the 2006 edition of Oblivion.
Rumors about a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion have been circulating for some time, and a new batch of leaked images suggests there may indeed be some truth to it. Allegedly, developer Virtuos posted these images on its website, and fans captured screenshots before they were quickly taken down. Attempting to view the images now results in a 403 forbidden error.
Regarding the release date of the game, it remains uncertain — although Eurogamer speculates that it could launch unexpectedly as soon as next week for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Furthermore, it is expected to be included in Xbox Game Pass. Get ready to gear up and return to Kvatch. Beware of the imps.
Wario64's side-by-side comparison offers a glimpse of the game's potential visuals, and all we can say is…wow. The Ayleid Ruins have received a significant upgrade (as much as ancient structures can), and the Spriggans appear considerably more intimidating than before. The water surrounding the lake reflects the ruins and the dock, and the lush greenery scattered across the ground is a refreshing change from the often-blurry textures of the original game.
Speculation about a remake initially surfaced in 2020 following the leak of several internal documents, and resurfaced in 2023 when a former employee of Virtuos indicated that a remake was underway. It’s not merely a visually enhanced version of the game; another Virtuos staff member mentioned that all of the game’s systems, such as stamina, sneaking, and blocking, have been revised.
Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb noted that the Oblivion remaster is scheduled for the week of April 21. Grubb is a prominent figure in the gaming industry with years of experience. He claims to have received confirmation of the release from an undisclosed source. While this remains a rumor and should be treated as such, Grubb has a reliable history of accurate leaks.
We will have to await official announcements for confirmation, but these screenshots look impressive and ignite excitement for a contemporary revisit of Skyrim's predecessor.

If you’re uncertain about buying High Isle — or if you already own it and want to ensure you don’t miss anything — here’s everything new in ESO that’s included with the chapter. Note that this chapter was released alongside Update 34, which provides a wealth of new content for all players, even those who do not buy the High Isle.
The impact of Bethesda's games on the gaming industry is immense. Some of the most cherished and influential RPGs in history have emerged from this studio — or were revived by them — offering players unique ways to explore and inhabit worlds that few other games attempt. The Elder Scrolls series has long been a flagship title for them, but it was the fifth installment, Skyrim, that elevated the fantasy open-world genre to levels of fame that rival the biggest gaming franchises. Now, over a decade later, countless players continue to enjoy the game for its unparalleled freedom.
While Skyrim is remarkable, ten years is a long time for any game. Despite its continuous re-releases on new platforms, there’s no denying that there is only so much that can be done to modernize it. Additionally, for many, even the extensive map is becoming sparse in terms of secrets and stories. With the next installment of The Elder Scrolls still years away, many gamers are searching for their next fantasy RPG experience. Whether you appreciate the open world, intricate storytelling, RPG-style combat and character development, or simply want a vast experience that allows you to play your way, we have compiled a list of the best games like Skyrim that you can enjoy right now.
