Xpeng's "Flying Van" can reach Russia

China's Xpeng AeroHT plans to start mass production of a vehicle with a Land Aircraft Carrier (LAC) flying module in the summer of 2026. The car is a six-wheeled electric van with an extendable aircraft controlled via a mobile application. The Chinese company Xpeng AeroHT is preparing to launch mass production of its innovative development — a car with an integrated flight module called the Land Aircraft Carrier (LAC).

Qiu Mingquan, the company's chief marketing officer, told a TASS correspondent during the China International Consumer Goods Exhibition (CICPE) that the start of serial deliveries is scheduled for the summer of 2026.

LAC is a six-wheeled electric van measuring about 5.5 meters long, 2 meters wide and the same in height. As Qiu Mingquan explained, this design allows for cross-country terrain and high load capacity. This makes it possible to transport the flying module to almost any point where the owner wishes. The electric car is capable of traveling up to 1,000 kilometers on a single full charge.

The main element of the innovative system is a retractable flight module, which is located in the rear of the van body. It is separated from the car using a special mobile application. The control of the module is intuitive, and you can master it at a basic level in an hour or two.

The aircraft is equipped with a vertical take-off and landing system and is equipped with six propellers. It supports manual operation and fully automatic flight mode. Durable and lightweight carbon fiber is used for the construction of the fuselage and blades. The panoramic glazing of the cockpit provides the pilot with a good view. The van serves as a charging platform for the module — one charging session is enough for a 20-minute flight.

According to Qiu Mingquan, Xpeng AeroHT specialists expect to receive an airworthiness certificate for the device in the fourth quarter of this year. In the summer of 2026, large-scale production and market entry of LAC will begin. Thus, more than a year remains for the final preparation for the commercial launch.

When asked about the possibility of LAC's appearance in Russia, Qiu Mingquan confirmed the company's interest.
