The highly anticipated One UI 7 update was short-lived. After months of delays, it was released last week, but Samsung has now halted its rollout and removed it from its servers due to what leakers describe as a “serious bug.” Although Samsung has not officially confirmed this, it does seem quite serious.
The issue appears to impact the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup, and as a precaution, several sources (including The Verge) report that Samsung has pulled the firmware from all models globally. Android Authority specifies that the affected models include the S24 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Sudden! After the firmware for the Korean Galaxy S24 series was released, a serious bug was discovered, prompting the suspension of the rollout plan in all other countries, including China. — I’m back! (@UniverseIce) April 14, 2025
The worldwide rollout has now been paused, and the firmware is no longer available on Samsung’s servers.
The bug sounds concerning. According to The Verge, some Samsung Galaxy S24 users found themselves unable to unlock their phones after upgrading to One UI 7. If this is the case, it’s understandable why the company decided to pause the update.
One UI 7 has experienced its fair share of delays, but unfortunately, this bug managed to slip through. The update was available on Samsung Galaxy S25 phones since their launch, while other devices began receiving it on April 7, with a U.S. launch on April 10.
Samsung has yet to officially acknowledge the issue or indicate whether a fix will be provided soon, but with a problem this significant, we anticipate further updates shortly.
What does this mean for you? If you can still download the update for any reason, it's advisable to hold off for now. If you've already installed it, you will likely receive a new update once Samsung resolves the issue.

Here's the expected release schedule for Samsung's One UI 7 update
Samsung Galaxy users have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the One UI 7 update, which promises a refreshed look for home screens and new features, including AI capabilities. Thanks to information initially shared by tipster Tarun Vats on X, details from the Czech Republic version of the Samsung Newsroom have clarified when One UI 7 will be available in that region. As noted by Android Central, the release dates for the Czech Republic and the U.S. could potentially align.
Samsung's One UI 7, currently exclusive to devices launched in 2025, is set to expand to more devices soon. The Android 15-based update will begin rolling out to older devices in April, starting with the Galaxy S24 series on April 10. Although the initial phones and tablets receiving the One UI 7 update include only flagship models, more affordable devices are expected to follow closely behind. While Samsung focuses on ensuring a stable One UI 7 for its flagship Galaxy S, Z Fold, Z Flip, and Tab S lines, it is likely to start testing the update on non-flagship devices from the previous year. Recently, dedicated pages in the One UI 7 beta forums have appeared for the Galaxy A55, suggesting it could be first in line as Samsung expands the release.
Some may have to wait a bit longer for Samsung's One UI 7 update
Samsung is projected to launch its much-anticipated One UI 7 update globally during the week of April 7. However, there has been some uncertainty surrounding the exact timing and locations of the rollout. A recent development has added to the confusion regarding specific release dates. According to SamMobile, Samsung has discreetly removed the One UI 7 launch date in the U.S. from its news portal. Subsequently, it also modified the wording on its Australia Newsroom portal and possibly others, stating that the official rollout "will start from April." For now, the exact dates remain unconfirmed for news portals in South Korea, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Malaysia, Singapore, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
