How to participate in the closed alpha test for Marathon.
Bungie
Following its significant impact on the live-service genre for consoles with Destiny, Bungie has dedicated over ten years to developing FPS games. This makes the announcement of the new video game Marathon, a revival of one of the studio's earliest intellectual properties, particularly thrilling. This extraction shooter includes distinctive Runner classes, evolving environments, exceptional shooting mechanics, and much more to explore. Set to release in September, the wait isn't too long, though some may still find it arduous. Fortunately, Bungie is offering players a chance to participate early through a closed alpha test. If you're eager to get ahead in this race, here's how you can join the Marathon closed alpha test.
How to join the closed alpha
Bungie is conducting a closed alpha that will occur from April 23 to May 4, but it's limited to selected participants. Unlike open tests that anyone can join, you'll need to meet certain criteria to have a chance to play Marathon early.
Firstly, the Marathon alpha test is exclusively available for North American players aged 18 or older on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC, who have a Bungie.net account.
Step 1: Start by joining the official Marathon Discord server and navigate to the "alpha_access" channel.
Step 2: Once there, type "/alpha," and a bot will prompt you to answer some questions to receive a registration link.
Step 3: Click on the link and log in with your Bungie.net account.
Step 4: Choose your platform, agree to the non-disclosure agreement, and consent to receive emails regarding the alpha. You'll encounter a few more questions before being prompted to keep an eye on your email for further notifications.
Bungie plans to send emails during the week of April 18 and will continue throughout the testing period, so it's possible you'll receive an invitation even if you're not selected initially.
Unfortunately, any progress made during the alpha will not carry over to the full game, ensuring that all players start on equal ground when the game is officially launched.

How to join the PlayStation beta program
Typically, we have to wait for the release of the best PS5 games before we can play them. Occasionally, there are demos and beta phases for games, but these opportunities can be infrequent and competitive to access. The PlayStation beta program allows gamers to experience upcoming PS5 games before anyone else, right on their console or PC, as well as test new potential console features. Besides getting an early look at these developments, beta participants can provide feedback that may influence the final products. If this sounds appealing to you, here’s how to sign up.
How to mount monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
If you've seen any trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds, you're aware that it's possible to mount your target to deliver significant damage. Similar to Power Clashes and Offset Attacks, this feature is not adequately explained in-game, often leaving players unaware of the techniques needed to execute it for hours. This is unfortunate, as it not only helps in swiftly defeating monsters but is also quite impressive to perform. There are many specifics to successfully mounting a furious beast, so we’ll provide all the necessary details on how to mount monsters and what steps to take once you're on its back.
How to capture monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
As expected, the aim of Monster Hunter Wilds is to hunt monsters using various powerful weapons. For the first several hours of the game, you’ll be defeating your targets through Power Clashes, Offset Attacks, mounting them, and utilizing any other strategies you’ve learned. However, you'll eventually encounter a point where capturing a monster without killing it becomes essential. As with many elements in Monster Hunter Wilds, the game assumes you either already know how to do this or can decipher its intricate systems independently. This is a complicated process, so we will outline all the steps needed to capture a monster in Monster Hunter Wilds. Capturing monsters will begin to be necessary starting in mission 4-1 to progress through the story. The tutorial offers a basic understanding of the process, but it falls short for newcomers.
