Are you in search of a smartphone that includes a stylus but not keen on spending a fortune for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra? Once again, Motorola steps in with the new Moto G Stylus 2025, which is considerably more affordable than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, yet still features an essential stylus.

The integrated stylus can be utilized with Google's Circle to Search function, as well as with Motorola's own Sketch to Image tool, which leverages AI to convert your sketches into artistic renderings for the Moto Note app. It can also be used throughout the device for interactions with system settings and applications, and Motorola claims it is 6.4 times more responsive than the stylus of the previous Moto G Stylus.

You can use the stylus on a 6.7-inch pOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage capacity, while its body has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and meets MIL-STD-810H durability standards.

A 5,000mAh battery with 68W TurboPower fast charging provides power, and it's notable that the device also supports 15W wireless charging for added convenience. The phone runs on Google's Android 15 software and includes stereo speakers. Thanks to Motorola’s ongoing collaboration with color specialists Pantone, the Moto G Stylus 2025 is available in two unique shades: Pantone Gibraltar Sea and Pantone Surf the Web, both in blue tones.

The camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, a 13MP wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view, and a light sensor to assist with exposure and color balance. For selfies, there’s a 32-megapixel front camera. Several AI functionalities are included, such as Motorola’s Photo Enhancement Engine, along with some Google AI editing features that can be accessed using the stylus.

Motorola plans to launch the Moto G Stylus 2025 on April 17, priced at $400. It will be available through Motorola's website, Amazon, Best Buy, and various carriers including T-Mobile and Verizon. It will also be released in Canada on May 13. The specifications of the G Stylus 2025 closely resemble those of the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, announced earlier in April, which will be available in the U.K. and Europe but does not come with a stylus.

Is the Galaxy S25 Ultra zoom the best? I tested it and it’s nearly there.

In February 2020, Samsung launched another generation of smartphones with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, introducing numerous new features, but notably, its marketing made long zoom capabilities and Ultra branding highly sought after. One of the main selling points for the Galaxy S20 Ultra — and subsequent Ultra models from Samsung — was its camera system. It made use of a 108MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 48MP periscope telephoto camera that offered 4x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom, enabling the innovative 100X Space Zoom feature still promoted on Ultra phones today.

iFixit names the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra “the most repairable Galaxy in years.”

While Samsung has historically aimed for a more customer-friendly approach to device repairs, it hasn’t always been straightforward. In some situations, Samsung has had a less accommodating perspective on third-party components. However, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has made strides in this area, as iFixit has proclaimed it the "most repairable Galaxy phone in years" in a recent announcement. Here’s why. The Galaxy S25 Ultra incorporates four small tabs that hold the battery securely in place. To remove it, you simply pull up those tabs, and the battery releases effortlessly. This is a more user-friendly method compared to the electrochemical release used in iPhones, but there is still significant progress needed before Galaxy phones are as easy to repair as they should be.

Samsung’s ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge might feature an impressive camera.

This year, thin designs are trending in the smartphone industry. Oppo is set to introduce the world’s thinnest foldable phone, and the rumored iPhone 17 Air continues to create buzz. Meanwhile, Samsung has already showcased its Galaxy S25 Edge live. Fortunately, it appears that the anticipated compromises for this slim device may not be as numerous as feared. A recent leak, labeled as “confirmed” regarding hardware specifics, suggests that the sleek phone will come equipped with a 200-megapixel rear camera.
