Rumors surrounding the iPhone 17 have been circulating extensively in recent weeks, with numerous tips and leaks highlighting a possible redesign of the camera. Various potential designs have emerged in renders, but a new photograph claimed to be taken on the assembly line might serve as the definitive confirmation.

Majin Bu’s image on X is said to display the iPhone 17 Pro Max, or at least its metal frame. The camera arrangement aligns with speculations that the new model will feature a camera bar extending the entire width of the device, with the lenses situated on the left and the microphone, flash, and LiDAR located on the right.

Many other brands, including Google, utilize this kind of design for their smartphones, but it remains unclear why Apple might be adopting this approach. It is possible that the bar will ensure a uniform thickness, allowing for a more stable placement of the phone when set down on its back.

When a substantial camera bump is positioned on one side and you press the screen on the opposite side, the resulting wobbling can be quite bothersome. However, based on the renders for this design, the lenses may still protrude more than the components on the right side, potentially resulting in a similar imbalance as seen in previous models.

Personally, I consider camera bumps to be an unfortunate aspect of design. I would much prefer a flat surface, but with the trend of growing and improving camera technology, it seems unlikely that I will get my wish anytime soon. Hopefully, these enhanced cameras will incorporate enough impressive technology to justify their presence.

Foldable iPhone leak suggests the long wait may yield a remarkable device

Apple’s absence from the foldable phone sector has become notably apparent, especially as companies like Samsung continue their seventh year in this market, and nearly every major Chinese brand has achieved significant advancements as well.

It seems that the much-anticipated foldable iPhone may indeed be worth waiting for, assuming you have the patience to hold on until 2027.

Apple's foldable iPhone could come with a significant price tag

So far, Apple's foldable iPhone project has remained largely in the realm of consumer tech speculation. However, industry experts and analysts occasionally share insights about it. The latest forecast comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, and it’s not particularly encouraging.

In his most recent note to investors, Kuo projected that the price for Apple’s book-style folding phone would fall between $2,000 and $2,500. In comparison, Samsung’s latest foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, is priced at around $1,900.

An iPhone 17e might be in development, but will we ever see an iPhone 18e?

The Apple iPhone 16e is still relatively new, but a tip from Fixed Focus Digital indicates that the iPhone 17e is all but certain. For context, Fixed Focus Digital was the first to propose the "16e" name when many, including ourselves, speculated that it would be called the iPhone SE 4.

The continuation of the "1xe" naming convention appears logical. With the apparent discontinuation of the "SE" lineup, the 16e and any future versions are poised to take its place. Fixed Focus Digital shared this information on Weibo, stating, "I see 17e there. The digital e-series is not a short-lived model." The original post was not in English, so some room for translation inaccuracies should be considered.
