Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 begin receiving the One UI 7 beta update.
Samsung has begun the rollout of the One UI 7 Beta update for its newest foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. Numerous users have reported receiving the enrollment notification on their eligible Samsung phones via X and the Samsung community forum. Recently, the company announced that beta testing for One UI 7 would commence for users in India, Korea, the US, and the UK. According to user posts on the Samsung forum, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 owners in the US have started to receive the update.
It appears that unlocked devices are receiving the update first, with reports also indicating that T-Mobile, Verizon, and Cricket users have received the update notification. If you have one of these two devices, you can check the Samsung Members app, where you will find a banner highlighting the beta program. Simply tap on it to enroll your device and then check for updates in the Software section of the Settings app.
The new beta brings these devices onto the Android 15 platform and introduces several features, including a revamped Home Screen, call transcripts, an upgraded security dashboard with new functionalities, the Now Bar, and more. The Writing Assist toolkit offers features such as text summarization, proofreading, formatting, and additional capabilities.
Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, Samsung has also confirmed that the One UI 7 Beta update will be available for the Galaxy S23 series and the mid-range Galaxy A55 smartphone later this week. Furthermore, the Android 15 experience will also be introduced to Samsung’s tablets for the first time, starting with the Galaxy Tab S10 series later this month. According to Samsung, the stable version of One UI 7 for all compatible smartphones is expected to be released in April.
The company has committed to updating flagship smartphones all the way back to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 in the coming months. Various models across the Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and budget-friendly Galaxy F series are also set to receive the software upgrade, though an official timeline for these older devices has yet to be established.

Oppo has finally revealed the Oppo Find N5 after weeks of hints about its latest foldable phone. Marketed as the world’s thinnest foldable, Oppo has addressed several criticisms related to the Find N3. This results in a device that demonstrates that folding phones can now achieve both innovation and practicality, at least on paper.
The Oppo Find N5 also tackles many challenges associated with the folding phone category in general. When using devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Pixel 9 Pro Fold in public, common questions often arise about durability, visibility of the crease, battery life, and camera quality.
One UI 7, Samsung's newest Android interface, includes numerous visual and functional improvements compared to the previous version, featuring enhanced visuals, added AI capabilities, and a control interface akin to the iPhone's Dynamic Island. Presently available only on the Galaxy S25 series, the stable version includes additional controls that allow parents to restrict their children's access to age-inappropriate content.
These new filters, part of Digital Wellbeing, enable parents to set limits on websites and apps, filtering out harmful content, as recently highlighted by Android Authority. Users with the Galaxy S25 or any future devices receiving the One UI 7 update will have the ability to implement automatic filters to restrict access to adult sites on their children’s phones. While Samsung has not clarified whether this functionality relies on a simple blacklist or advanced AI methods to filter out inappropriate content, it notes that it may not be able to block all unsuitable websites for children.
After ten days with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the most noteworthy aspect is its familiarity, which is both a positive and a negative. The consistent design is beneficial, as Samsung has provided essential upgrades such as improved battery life and enhanced camera skin color temperature without significantly altering the hardware. However, it seems Samsung has opted for a conservative approach with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, avoiding bold innovations. This might have given the impression of merely another incremental update until One UI 7’s latest Home Up update was installed, which introduced customizable options for user interaction and personalization of the device.
