Best technologies of MWC 2025: the finest devices we observed on the exhibition floor.
Mobile World Congress 2025 has captivated the tech industry, with prominent brands unveiling entirely new mobile devices, impending hardware, and innovative concepts that hint at the future. Digital Trends has been providing coverage of MWC 2025 both on-site and remotely, engaging with the latest technology and interviewing key industry figures. After extensive writing, testing, and analysis, we've compiled our final selection of the best technology showcased at MWC 2025.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra
Xiaomi / Digital Trends
Is the Xiaomi 15 Ultra the leading camera phone of the year? It’s certainly a formidable contender, earning a solid 8/10 in our thorough review. The 15 Ultra features a multi-lens camera system aimed at emulating the range of lenses a professional photographer would carry, all compacted into a portable design. Its back even resembles that of a camera.
Xiaomi introduced a variety of new mobile products at MWC 2025, including the regular Xiaomi 15, the Xiaomi Watch S4, and a conceptual device that allows camera lenses to be magnetically attached to the back of a smartphone. Interestingly, it wasn't the only brand with such a unique concept, as you’ll soon discover.
Nothing Phone 3a Pro
Nothing / Digital Trends
The Nothing Phone 3a Pro is arguably the standout device at MWC 2025 due to its affordability, priced at less than half of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and it will be available in the U.S. too. Remarkably, the phone looks and performs exceptionally well, proving to be a reliable companion in Barcelona, capturing the event and city with its outstanding camera.
It is accompanied by the Nothing Phone 3a, which lacks the striking design on the back and is less versatile with its camera. However, most features are similar, including the software, which is a notable advantage of the Nothing phone. There’s some AI included, which is both intriguing and practical. Whether you opt for the Phone 3a or Phone 3a Pro, we believe you’ll be pleased with your choice.
Lenovo ThinkBook Flip AI PC Concept
Lenovo / Digital Trends
The Lenovo ThinkBook Flip concept presents a truly distinctive approach to folding laptop design. Unlike the typical book-style fold seen in phones and Lenovo’s other folding laptops, this model features a vertical design that combines two 13-inch screens stacked on top of one another.
When folded backward, the outer display mirrors the other screen, making it ideal for meetings and presentations. It includes several clever software features, such as the ability to display on the outer screen and swipe across the hinge to “fling” content to that display. The trackpad is also among the most innovative I’ve encountered, featuring three modes that provide access to a number pad and quick settings.

Realme Ultra Concept
Realme / Digital Trends
The Realme Ultra concept phone embodies the kind of innovation we hope to see at MWC. Initially appearing as a standard smartphone, it transforms into a unique phone/camera hybrid when an adaptor plate is attached to the camera module, allowing for the use of standard camera lenses. It's both impressive and a bit cumbersome, yet it functions effectively.
We captured some remarkable images with the Realme Ultra concept, though mastering the manual focus and basic stabilization posed a challenge. Nevertheless, its very existence qualifies it for this list, though we’ll have to wait and see if it becomes a marketable product.
HMD Fusion X1
HMD / Digital Trends
Could the HMD Fusion X1 be the first smartphone that tech enthusiasts will want to buy for their children, and that kids will actually appreciate? That’s HMD’s objective, collaborating with online safety experts Xplora to create a child-friendly environment that can be as restrictive or lenient as desired, allowing kids to mature with their phones while avoiding unnecessary bans or content filters.
The Fusion X1 represents just the beginning of HMD's broader strategy, which aims to go beyond simply generating headlines and assuaging concerned parents. While not a flagship competing with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, it may pave the way for younger generations to own a full-featured flagship phone in the future and foster a more responsible relationship with mobile technology in the process.
TCL Nxtpaper 11 Plus
TCL / Digital Trends
TCL’s Nxtpaper 11 Plus tablet is noteworthy not just for being a tablet but for its screen technology. The Nxtpaper panel is designed to reduce eye strain and enhance comfort during extended use by alternating between full color and e-paper-style monochrome, effectively eliminating harmful blue light.
TCL has simplified the transition between screens with a new button, and the fourth-generation screen is almost indistinguishable from a conventional OLED. This intriguing device could replace both your laptop and e-reader for certain trips or outings, and we always appreciate multi-functional products.
