Apple's foldable iPhone initiative has primarily existed in the realm of consumer tech speculation. However, industry insiders and analysts occasionally share snippets of information regarding it. The latest forecast comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, and it is not optimistic. In his recent note to investors, Kuo has projected a price range of approximately $2,000 to $2,500 for Apple's book-style foldable phone. In comparison, Samsung's newest foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, is priced at around $1,900. Kuo cites several factors contributing to the steep price. Firstly, he suggests that Apple has a specific brand image to uphold, and to maintain that status, the price will likely be higher than its competitors, provided Apple offers compelling hardware quality.

Next, this insider—who has had a varied success rate with prior Apple predictions—adds that interest in a foldable iPhone will remain strong, even though it may come at a higher cost to buyers.
There are, however, several factors that could warrant this premium price. Kuo points out that Apple is pursuing a crease-less design for its foldable phone. To date, no smartphone manufacturer has entirely eliminated the crease, although Oppo’s Find N5 comes closest to achieving that goal. In addition, Apple aims for a premium construction that will utilize a titanium alloy for the chassis. The company may also adopt a stainless steel-titanium composite for specific internal components, similar to what is seen in the iPhone 16 Pro models.
Moreover, the device is expected to be quite thin, measuring just 4.5-4.8mm when unfolded, which is comparable to the impressive Honor Magic V3 and Oppo's latest foldable. For battery technology, reports suggest Apple will use the same high-density formulation intended for the rumored iPhone 17 Air model.
Nonetheless, everything is still tentative. Kuo mentions that the final specifications will be finalized in the second quarter of 2025, with mass production anticipated to commence in the last quarter of 2026. As for its market release, Apple’s foldable iPhone might become available in the second half of 2027, according to Kuo.

Your future phone could change colors throughout the day
If you own an Ultramarine iPhone 16 and tire of its hue, the common solution would be to wait until your next upgrade (perhaps to an iPhone 17) to choose a different color. But what if you grow weary of your phone’s color every day? This is where Infinix's new E-Color Shift 2.0 technology comes into play. Introduced at MWC 2025, this cutting-edge technology may enable you to continuously customize your future smartphone's appearance. With E-Color Shift 2.0, you can adjust your device's look through dynamic, interactive color transitions, influenced by your preferences and external factors. The technology offers six patterns and six color palettes, resulting in 30 unique combinations.

Tecno Spark Slim is what the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone 17 Air should be
Samsung unveiled its long-anticipated slim phone at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, and Apple is expected to be developing the iPhone 17 Air. However, Tecno has a genuinely ready slim phone that doesn’t compromise on battery life. The Tecno Spark Slim is the prototype I expected any company to release with the word “Slim” in its name. It features a battery of over 5,000mAh, has a thickness of under 6mm, and includes multiple cameras. Tecno announced the launch of what it claims to be the “world’s thinnest smartphone” just days before Mobile World Congress 2025. I had the opportunity to handle the working prototype, which is said to be prepared for a “staggered launch.” Here’s why I believe this is what the Galaxy S25 Edge and iPhone 17 Air should aspire to be.
The battery is larger than that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
