Aqara unveils U200 and A100 Zigbee Edition Smart Locks

Aqara has introduced two new models of smart locks, the U200 and A100 Zigbee Edition, which provide a high level of security and convenience through advanced authentication technologies and integration with smart home ecosystems.

The Aqara U200 is a modular device mounted on top of a standard mechanical lock. One of the key features is support for the Matter over Thread standard, which provides reliable connectivity and compatibility with various smart home platforms. For access, you can use a fingerprint, an NFC tag, Apple Home Keys, various types of passwords, and a physical key. In addition, the lock can be remotely controlled via the Aqara Home app.

The security plan provides protection against burglary attempts, automatic locking after closing the door, and IPX5 water resistance. In case of multiple unsuccessful attempts to enter codes, the system temporarily blocks access, and the event log allows the owner to track all login attempts. The lock also supports integration with the Aqara G4 video call, which makes it possible to control access to the room in real time. The device is powered by a built-in lithium-ion battery and a set of AAA batteries in an external module.

The second model, the Aqara A100 Zigbee Edition, is based on Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth protocols. The lock body is made of durable aluminum alloy, and the touchscreen keyboard and fingerprint scanner are integrated into the handle, which makes the door unlocking process as convenient as possible. The lock supports various access methods, including biometrics, NFC, passwords, Apple Home Keys, Google Assistant, and a physical key.

In addition to the standard security features, the A100 Zigbee Edition is able to automatically notify the owner of hacking attempts or multiple unsuccessful password entries. The device also supports automation of smart home scenarios. For example, when a user logs in, the system can turn on the light at a certain temperature, activate the air conditioner, or put the house into security mode when leaving.

Another important feature of the lock is the integration with the Aqara Camera Hub G3, which uses facial recognition. If the door is opened by an unknown user or a mechanical key, the owner will receive an instant notification and the camera will start recording.

The lock is powered by 8 AA batteries, providing up to 18 months of battery life. In an emergency, you can use an emergency power supply via the Type-C port to restore access even when the batteries are completely drained.

Both models offer reliable biometric protection, flexible automation, and compatibility with popular platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, and Aqara Home.
