Razer's latest Blade 18 offers a significant performance boost with the RTX 5000.
Razer is launching the competition for the fastest gaming laptops of 2025 with its new Blade 18 model. The company claims it is the most powerful Blade laptop to date, as well as the slimmest to feature Intel’s robust HX-series processor.
The laptop will come in three graphics configurations: the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and the top-tier RTX 5090 GPU. Storage options range from 1TB to a maximum of 4TB, and RAM options will be available at either 32GB or 64GB. There are slots available for additional memory upgrades, and the onboard M.2 slots allow for up to 8TB of internal storage. For customers selecting the highest configuration with the most RAM and storage, the price will reach $4,899.99. Pre-orders are currently available on Razer’s official website, with the base model priced at $3,199.99 in the US.
An absolute powerhouse, the Blade 18 is powered by Intel’s 24-core Ultra 9 275HX processor, built on TSMC’s N3B process node, capable of a peak frequency of 5.4 GHz in boost mode. On the graphics side, it features Nvidia’s latest GeForce RTX 5090 GPU.
Razer states that the new Blade laptop will provide an impressive total package power (TPP) of 280W, utilizing the full 175W output promised by Nvidia for its premier mobile graphics engine. To manage the thermal demands, Razer has upgraded the heat management system and equipped the Blade 18 with a large vapor chamber cooling system supported by three fans and "the thinnest exhaust fins in its category."
The port selection is generous and ahead of the curve, featuring two Thunderbolt ports (one each from Gen4 and Gen5), HDMI 2.1, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, an RJ45 Ethernet port, and a UHS-II SD card slot. It supports 400W charging natively, but the integrated 99 WHr battery can also be charged via a USB Type-C cable with up to 100W peak output. The construction features the typical CNC-milled aluminum, but unlike the previous Blade 18, the 2025 version is offered only in a single black finish with an anodized surface.
What sets the Blade 18 apart is that it is the world's first laptop equipped with a dual-mode panel, permitting users to switch the resolution and refresh rate for optimal performance. The 18-inch panel operates at a native UHD+ (3840 x 2400 pixels) resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate.
For those seeking additional fluidity, the refresh rate can be increased to 440Hz when the resolution is reduced to a FHD+ (1920 x 1200 pixels) setting. It can reproduce the complete range of colors in the DCI-P3 spectrum and supports gaming enhancements like Nvidia G-Sync.
Razer has also upgraded the keyboard features. The Blade 18 offers keys with 1.5mm travel (35% better than the previous generation) and introduces a new 10-key shortcut system in the number cluster. Additionally, the 5-megapixel webcam is equipped with a mechanical privacy filter. The audio output is managed by a THX Spatial Audio-capable system that includes two tweeters and four woofers.
Alongside the Blade 18, Razer is also launching the Blade 16, which was originally unveiled at CES earlier this year. This laptop is the thinnest ever made by Razer, featuring up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU, and a QHD+ 240Hz OLED display. The Blade 16 starts at $2,799.99 for the entry-level model with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU.
