The OPPO Find N5 is set to be the slimmest smartphone yet. Unfortunately, it will not be available in two of the largest markets globally: the U.S. and Europe. We already knew that the device wouldn't be launched in the U.S. since OPPO doesn't operate there. The announcement regarding Europe is, however, unexpected.

In a statement to The Tech Chap (via Android Authority), OPPO mentioned, “We customize our product launches for each region based on thorough market research and strategic priorities. The Find N5 will not be released in Europe.”

This statement is intriguing, especially considering OPPO’s comments when the Find N5 was first revealed. At that time, they stated, “Interestingly, the announcement included this note: the ‘Find N5 marks a new phase in OPPO’s global expansion.’”

The Find N5 may eventually become available in Europe and other areas. However, upon its launch, it is confirmed to be available only in two regions: China and Singapore, where it was officially introduced.

The OPPO Find N5 boasts impressive features, particularly its innovative foldable design, which prioritizes slimness and portability. It includes an 8.12-inch inner foldable display and a 6.62-inch outer display, both with 120Hz refresh rates. The device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, providing exceptional performance for intensive tasks and gaming. It measures just 8.93mm in thickness and weighs 229 grams.

One company that should be particularly pleased with this news is Samsung. As the market leader in foldable devices, it no longer needs to contend with the world’s slimmest smartphone in many regions.

OPPO’s latest phone will be available for purchase in China and Singapore starting Friday, February 28.

Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, Pete Lau, recently teased the upcoming OPPO Find N5, dubbing it the “world’s thinnest folding flagship" and sharing a photo of the device partially concealed by a pencil to illustrate its slightness. Shortly after, Finnish leaker Teme released images that may provide a clearer look at the new device, showcasing just how thin it will be.

The three images below indicate that the OPPO Find N5 has the potential to be the thinnest folding flagship on the market. One of the photos features the phone's camera arrangement. The leaker pointed out: “Oppo Find N5’s thinness and camera layout. OnePlus has not yet confirmed if this will also be the [OnePlus] Open 2.”

An unusual image has provided a hint about an exceptional spec for the OnePlus Open 2.

Hints don't get much clearer than the one shared by Oppo Chief Product Officer Pete Lau on the Chinese social network Weibo regarding the OPPO Find N5. This hint is particularly significant as the OPPO Find N5 is a large-screen folding phone that is very likely to be similar to the OnePlus Open 2. Tech enthusiasts might recall that while Lau is currently with OPPO, he co-founded OnePlus.

“The world’s thinnest folding flagship, OPPO Find N5, see you in February,” states a message posted on Weibo alongside a teaser image showing a pencil partially obscuring the side of the phone. Notably, the message was sent from a Find N5, indicating Lau's familiarity with the new foldable.

This phone may have already surpassed the Galaxy Z Flip 5 significantly.

Foldable phones are continuously evolving, and a new smartphone might already be outperforming the Galaxy Z Flip 5 ahead of its release. According to a newly leaked render, the OPPO Find N3 Flip will feature a triple-camera setup — a notable upgrade from the dual-camera systems used in flip smartphones for several years.

As reported by 91Mobiles, the OPPO Find N3 Flip will come equipped with three cameras on its cover: a 50MP main lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP telephoto lens. If this information is accurate, the Find N3 Flip will set a new standard for photographers eager to take advantage of foldable devices.
