It's not engaged in a feature comparison with the Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch. Instead, it focuses strongly on sports, outdoor tracking, premium materials, and notably, impressive battery life.

The most significant visual transformation in the GT 7 Pro is its attitude. Huawei has shifted from the more conservative, dress-watch style of previous models to give this one a bold, athletic identity. Its sculpted lines suggest it's made for cycling apparel rather than business attire, though traditional watch enthusiasts may take some time to appreciate it.

During my initial testing, I started at 61% battery and put it through a morning gym session, several cycling trips, continuous health monitoring, and overnight sleep tracking. The next day, I was at 53%. That's just an 8% drop after rigorous tracking. Huawei claims the Pro can last up to 12 days with regular use and 21 days with lighter usage, along with up to 51 hours in outdoor sports mode. My early findings make those endurance claims seem plausible, though I will need more time to conclude about the battery.
A flagship with a clear focus
The key takeaway thus far is that Huawei isn’t attempting to create another Apple Watch or Galaxy Watch. Those smartwatches aim to be all-encompassing, whereas the GT 7 Pro seems content with its strengths: sports, outdoor engagement, health tracking, and exceptional battery life that minimizes the need for frequent charging.
