Google Health 5.07 has been released with several updates to how the app tracks and presents your workout and health data. Trail running and incline running will now contribute to your Running Distance totals, manually entered workouts can now have more details included, and a problem that caused Health Connect to disconnect for some Android users has been resolved.

The update is being rolled out on both Android and iOS starting today, with wider availability expected over the next week. This version follows 5.05, which introduced two-way syncing with Apple Health and Smart Health Links, as well as 5.06, which provided users the option to shorten the Health Coach’s guidance on the Today tab.

      Enhanced visibility for workout data

For those manually logging their workouts, Google Health now allows the addition and modification of a broader range of metrics. Google states that any adjustments made should reflect in workout summaries more promptly.

Swimming workouts will also see an enhancement, allowing users to log more metrics when alternating between pool and open-water swimming. Additionally, trail and incline runs will now be counted in the Running Distance totals, giving you a more accurate representation of your regular activities.

      Improvements to maps

Maps have also been improved, with Google indicating they will load quicker and display more smoothly. An issue that occasionally caused maps to vanish while tracking a run, walk, or bike ride has been addressed.

      Health Connect receives essential updates

Some Android users have faced connectivity issues between Health Connect and Google Health. The 5.07 update remedies this problem. If you experienced this issue, Health Connect should now be visible under Partner Apps in the Connections settings. Moreover, Google has recalibrated the dynamic minimum and maximum range of the weight graph to make it easier to observe weight trends and fluctuations at a glance.

Since the Fitbit app was replaced in May, Google Health has introduced several significant features. Version 5.07 represents a smaller update, primarily focused on ensuring that pre-existing workout and health data is accurately recorded and displayed.
