Jimi Hendrix’s Purple Haze dominates Marshall’s assortment of speakers, headphones, and amplifiers.
Marshall
Jimi Hendrix and Marshall amplifiers are nearly synonymous with rock history. Sixty years after Hendrix first connected to a Marshall in 1966, the company has chosen to pay tribute to the icon with a special edition for its latest audio gear collection.
Marshall has broadened its Jimi Hendrix 60th Anniversary Collection by adding three more limited-edition items: the Major V headphones, Emberton III Bluetooth speaker, and Studio JMH Half Stack. This follows the earlier introduction of the crushed-purple-velvet Acton III and the impressive 1959 JMH Half Stack.
However, the company isn’t merely branding its products with Hendrix’s name; it enhances them with a purple haze. Black and purple blend in psychedelic oil-on-water patterns, silver accents pay homage to Hendrix’s jewelry, while an all-seeing eye motif reflects his fascination with space and the concept of the third eye.

Purple Haze looks appealing on a speaker.
The Hendrix Edition Emberton III may serve as the simplest entry into the collection. Its purple design adorns the silicone sleeve and grille, featuring purple LEDs and a silver all-seeing eye on the control button. Marshall employs a hand-dipped water-transfer printing technique for the sleeve, resulting in unique patterns across units, making each speaker slightly distinct.

Internally, the speakers remain unchanged. It delivers the well-known Emberton III features, including over 32 hours of battery life, IP67 dust and water resistance, True Stereophonic 360-degree sound, and Bluetooth LE Audio support, priced at $179.99. The Major V Hendrix Edition also receives the cosmic design on its inner headband and earcups, with its hardware largely unchanged, featuring 40mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.3, wireless charging, a customizable M-button, and an impressive battery life exceeding 100 hours. Marshall currently lists it at $179.99.
The $2,500 centerpiece is for die-hard Hendrix fans.

The Studio JMH Half Stack Hendrix Edition is crafted by hand at Marshall’s UK factory and combines an all-valve Studio head with a 2×12 cabinet housing two Celestion V-Type speakers. This model is aimed at true fans (who can afford it), priced at $2,499.99 in the US, where Marshall has it listed as “coming soon.”
The head can switch between 20W and 5W, allowing players to enjoy plexi-era tones without needing an arena. Naturally, it features the complete Hendrix aesthetic, showcasing psychedelic purple and black panels, purple lighting, silver details, and all-seeing-eye emblems.
