The Xbox console for its 25th anniversary from Microsoft might be priced at $100 above the 1TB Series X model.
Xbox's 25th-anniversary console has reportedly been assigned a price tag.
Microsoft began teasing the Xbox 25th anniversary console back in June but has not disclosed any pricing information until now.
According to a recent report, the limited-edition Xbox Series X25 may launch at a price significantly higher than the standard Series X.
What specifics did the report provide?
The Dealabs report, which references internal research, suggests that the Xbox Series X25 could be priced at €899.99 in Europe or approximately $899.99 in the United States.
The console's official debut is set for November 2026, with a specific launch date of November 27, 2026. This timing may align with Black Friday sales, as Microsoft may want to take advantage of that shopping event.
This rollout comes about a month after the special edition controller is set to launch, with Microsoft confirming that the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition will be available in October.
In terms of design, the X25 features a translucent “OG Green” shell, reminiscent of the original 2001 console, with visible internal components through the casing.
How does this pricing compare?
At an estimated price of $899.99, the X25 would match the price of Sony’s PS5 Pro, despite the Xbox forgoing the disc drive option that Sony’s console has.
In relation to Microsoft's own products, however, the difference is narrower. The standard 1TB Series X featuring a disc drive is currently priced at $799.99, following a price increase from Microsoft in August, leaving just $100 separating the two consoles.
For comparison, the PS5 Digital Edition’s 30th Anniversary bundle launched at only $50 more than the standard Digital Edition’s price at the time. Nevertheless, the console market has evolved since then.
With recent challenges, including RAM shortages, causing significant price increases in consoles over the past year, the Xbox 25th anniversary console may not be an exception. Pre-order details for the X25 have yet to be announced, so those interested in purchasing will need to stay updated through Xbox’s official channels.
