Spotify's Playlist Notes allows for easier addition of context to your favorite selections.
Have you ever questioned how a particular song ended up on your favorite playlist? Now you can either ask or find out for yourself.
Spotify has introduced a new feature called Playlist Notes to help you understand the reasoning behind song selections on playlists. This feature allows both editors and users to provide context for their favorite songs, podcasts, and audiobooks.
This addition is part of a series of enhancements to playlists, which include custom cover art, playlist folders, and seamless track transitions, all aimed at improving your listening experience and making your playlists feel uniquely yours.
What are playlist notes exactly?
Playlist Notes enable you to add a brief insight next to any song, podcast episode, or audiobook in a playlist that you’ve created or contributed to. Whether a track evokes memories of a road trip or an episode shifted your perspective, you can now convey that context within the app itself.
This feature evolved from a previous concept called User Notes, and it’s currently in the hands of Spotify's editors, who will use it to explain the inclusion of specific tracks on some of Spotify's most popular playlists, highlighting the reasoning behind their choices and their cultural significance.
In addition to the notes, users will receive Editor Profiles, showcasing an editor’s favorite tracks and albums, along with the playlists they manage. This offers a fun opportunity to discover the individuals behind the music you enjoy.
Where can you find these notes?
Editor notes are progressively being rolled out to Free and Premium users aged 16 and older in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Look for these notes on playlists like Today’s Top Hits, RapCaviar, Hot Country, All New Pop, Mint, and Fresh Finds Hip-Hop.
To read them, simply tap "Notes" at the top of these playlists, and you can click on an editor’s name to view their profile. You will also find these notes in the Now Playing section, even when listening outside of the playlist where the note originated.
You can add your own notes too. To do this, open a playlist you own or participate in, select the three dots next to a track, and choose "Add Note." Just be aware that anyone who has access to your playlist can also see your notes, so consider this before sharing personal details.
Playlist Notes for personal playlists are currently being rolled out on iOS and Android in over 100 markets, so make sure to update your app if it's not available yet.

Supreme placed its box logo on JBL’s compact speakers, because plain red wasn’t sufficient.
Supreme's collaboration with JBL on the Go 5 could be the most predictable red gadget yet.
It seems Supreme assessed JBL’s red Go series speakers and concluded they didn’t have the right shade of red. The streetwear brand has introduced a limited-edition JBL Go 5 as part of its Fall/Winter 2026 lineup, featuring Supreme’s distinctive red with a large white Supreme logo on the front. The top also has white controls and JBL branding on the lanyard. JBL already offers its standard Go 5 in red, meaning the collaboration doesn't introduce significant alterations.
CMF's upcoming earbuds are on the way, and I have a solid guess about their identity.
CMF has begun teasing its next pair of wireless earbuds, though the company hasn’t revealed the name yet. It's likely that these could be the successor to the CMF Buds Pro 2. The teaser shared on CMF's official X account showcases an in-ear earbud from beneath. It features a metallic silver finish, a stem with what seem to be two microphone openings, and a silicone eartip in CMF’s signature orange. CMF describes it as “a hint of what’s next,” but there’s no launch date or specifications disclosed yet.

Samsung's ultra-wide monitors may have found their ideal game in Call of Duty.
Anyone who purchased Samsung's expensive Odyssey series of ultra-wide monitors now has another incentive to utilize their entire screen space. Samsung has officially become the TV, monitor, soundbar, and Wi-Fi speaker partner for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, with Activision and Samsung incorporating HDR10+ Gaming into the forthcoming game. This partnership is not merely cosmetic; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch with support for a 32:9 aspect ratio, providing Odyssey G9 owners with a much wider view of the battlefield.
