The forthcoming Googlebook series from Google is becoming clearer through various leaks. Lenovo has already been featured in multiple renders, while a recent benchmark leak indicates that Dell might bring the XPS branding to Google’s upcoming laptop platform. Now, Asus has joined the list of manufacturers revealing details ahead of the launch.
Digital Citizen has shared several renders of an unannounced Asus Googlebook, displaying its lid, keyboard, chassis, and port selection. This laptop is anticipated to make its official appearance at IFA next month. Googlebooks are expected to introduce Android apps, ChromeOS technology, greater phone integration, and Gemini features to a new range of laptops. Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo are all expected to be involved in the initial wave.
Asus may add a unique element to its Googlebook
The Asus model features a fairly standard slim and lightweight design, yet the lid is equipped with a prominent Glow Bar that distinctly differentiates it. The specific functionality of this feature is still unclear, but it may serve a role similar to Google’s new HiLight function found in the Pixel 11 Pro models. HiLight is said to illuminate for calls from preferred contacts and during Gemini conversations. Asus might utilize the larger Glow Bar for similar notifications, charging status, or other system activities. It might also simply be designed to make the laptop immediately identifiable as a Googlebook.

Asus appears to be utilizing its Ultra-Ceramic Light Alloy for the laptop's build. Promotional materials accompanying the leak indicate that this construction reduces weight by 34% while enhancing strength by 13%. The laptop showcases a deep carbon gray finish.

Connectivity options also look promising. The renders indicate the presence of two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, a full-size HDMI, and a headphone jack on either side. Lenovo’s leaked Googlebook 15 adopted a similar practical approach, incorporating HDMI, USB-A, USB-C, an SD card reader, and a headphone jack.
Asus is the latest prominent PC manufacturer to experience a Googlebook leak before the platform's launch, following Lenovo and Dell. Details regarding the processor, display specifications, battery capacity, or pricing remain unknown, but IFA Berlin begins on September 4, 2026, which may finally clarify some of those details.
