      LG has officially announced the price and US release date for its remarkably fast UltraGear 25G590B. This 24.5-inch esports monitor is now available for preorder exclusively from LG at a price of $999.99, with expedited shipping expected to start on September 1.

      The standout feature is its native refresh rate of 1,000Hz at 1920 x 1080 resolution, making it the first Full HD gaming monitor to deliver that speed without reverting to a lower resolution. The display can refresh up to 1,000 times per second, or once per millisecond. Additionally, LG allows users to overclock it to 1,100Hz.

      Who benefits from a 1,000Hz monitor?

      This monitor is specifically designed for competitive FPS gamers who prioritize motion clarity and responsiveness over resolution. LG opted for a 24.5-inch size, which is common in esports and allows players to keep most of the action within their natural field of view.

      Achieving 1,000Hz requires more than just connecting it to any gaming PC. LG recommends using Windows 11, DisplayPort 2.1, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series card or an AMD Radeon RX 7900, RX 9070, or RX 9060 series GPU or newer. DisplayPort 2.1 supports UHBR20 bandwidth, enabling the monitor to sustain Full HD resolution at its maximum refresh rate. The Motion Blur Reduction Pro feature can enhance the clarity of moving targets, but using it will disable FreeSync Premium and G-Sync compatibility.

      The Acer Nitro XV273U F5 is priced $300 less than the LG and may serve as a better all-around monitor. Its 27-inch display operates at 2560 x 1440 resolution and 540Hz, offering more screen real estate and sharper visuals for games beyond competitive shooters.

The Acer drops to 720p at 1,000Hz, while the LG maintains 1080p and can reach as high as 1,100Hz when overclocked.
