Revolut collaborates with OpenAI to include ChatGPT Go in its subscription offerings.

Revolut is providing its customers with free access to ChatGPT through a new partnership with OpenAI. The fintech company, which claims to serve over 75 million users globally, is incorporating OpenAI's ChatGPT Go into its subscription plans, offering service durations ranging from three months to a year at no additional cost.

The benefit increases with the subscription tier. The highest Ultra tier includes twelve months of ChatGPT Go and a twelve-month “buddy pass” to share with a friend, while the Metal tier receives a year, Premium and Revolut Pro subscribers get six months, and even the free Standard tier benefits from three months as a promotional offer.

This isn't Revolut's first venture into AI; the company has developed its own in-app assistant named AIR and reportedly utilizes OpenAI's models for fraud detection and customer service, making the ChatGPT offering a complement to this existing relationship.

The rollout is incremental. Paid subscribers and Revolut Pro users can access the benefit instantly in the app, while Plus and Standard users will receive it in the following weeks, a strategy that rewards higher tiers first.

What users are receiving is a lighter version of ChatGPT. ChatGPT Go, powered by OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 model, provides enhanced usage limits, file uploads, document analysis, image generation, and memory—features that differentiate a basic chatbot from a daily utility.

For Revolut, the rationale is to bundle services. The company has invested years in enhancing its subscriptions with various perks, from airport lounge access to insurance, now valuing that portfolio at approximately €4,100 annually, with an AI product being a clear next addition.

"We aim to empower our customers with tools that enhance their daily lives beyond just finance," stated Tara Massoudi, the company's general manager for premium products, positioning ChatGPT as a lifestyle benefit rather than merely a banking feature.

For OpenAI, the focus is on distribution. "We’re thrilled to collaborate with Revolut to bring ChatGPT Go to millions of customers worldwide," said Emmanuel Marill, OpenAI's managing director for EMEA, a partnership that introduces its product to tens of millions of users at once.

This trend is notable to observe. OpenAI has been integrating ChatGPT into both workplaces and consumer applications, and partnerships like this transform other companies' user bases into gateways for its subscriptions.

OpenAI is pursuing similar strategies within European finance, having established a comparable arrangement with the London Stock Exchange Group around the same time, aiming to embed its models within major institutions across the continent instead of solely within its own apps.

The Revolut agreement is a straightforward example of this exchange. The bank receives an appealing benefit to promote memberships, OpenAI potentially gains millions of paying users once the free periods conclude, and customers enjoy up to a year of ChatGPT through a subscription they may already have.

It is important to clarify what this is and what it isn't. The offer consists of a complimentary ChatGPT subscription and does not involve sharing banking transaction data with OpenAI to access the service.

However, the trend is clear. The distinctions between banking apps and AI assistants are becoming less defined, and OpenAI has expressed interest in bringing ChatGPT closer to financial matters, a development that presents both convenience and risks.

For now, the offer is quite straightforward. Millions of Revolut users are soon to find ChatGPT Go available in their app, and OpenAI has secured one of the most extensive consumer distribution deals that a fintech can offer, one membership tier at a time.
