      Samsung had already been rumored to be working on a larger battery for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, with the Galaxy S27 Pro expected to include a 5,000mAh cell. However, at that time, there was no mention of silicon-carbon batteries being in development.

      Recently, Samsung introduced this technology with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. A new report from GalaxyClub has suggested the potential battery capacities for both devices, indicating significant advancements according to Samsung's standards.

      Samsung appears to be adopting a cautious strategy.

      As per GalaxyClub, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to have a rated battery capacity of 5,087mAh, which might be marketed as 5,200mAh. In contrast, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is rumored to have a rated capacity of 5,534mAh, potentially being advertised as either 5,700mAh or even 5,800mAh. This would mark the first time the Ultra surpasses the 5,000mAh limit that Samsung has adhered to for several generations.

      The increased capacities hint that both devices might utilize silicon-carbon batteries, although GalaxyClub has not confirmed this technology. Silicon-carbon batteries substitute part of the graphite in the lithium-ion anode with silicon, enabling greater energy storage within the same volume.

      Chinese smartphone manufacturers have already employed this technology to achieve flagship batteries exceeding 7,000mAh. Samsung's anticipated battery sizes are smaller, but the company emphasizes that safety, long-term health, and reliability are key considerations for its first silicon-carbon foldables. The Galaxy S27 specifications may simply reflect Samsung's gradual adoption of this new technology.

      Improvements to the camera may also be on the horizon.

      A separate report from WinFuture suggests that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra will feature Sony’s IMX855 sensor for their ultrawide cameras, replacing the 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN3 found in the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

      Both models could be equipped with a new 16MP Samsung front camera with autofocus, and it's suggested that the Galaxy S27 Pro might even incorporate optical image stabilization for its selfie camera. The standard Galaxy S27 and S27+ are anticipated to keep a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 12MP ultrawide, though details about their zoom capabilities remain uncertain.

      None of these specifications have been verified, and Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event is still months away. Specifications can change during the development process, so the information regarding the battery and camera should be regarded with some skepticism.
