Lenovo has enhanced its LOQ gaming laptop range with an additional graphics choice. The company introduced an updated LOQ 17IRX10 model that combines Intel’s Core i7-14700HX processor with Nvidia’s newly launched GeForce RTX 5070 12GB laptop GPU. This enhancement offers consumers an extra configuration option without altering the laptop’s overall design or features.
This new variant joins Lenovo’s existing LOQ 17IRX10 lineup, which previously included options with GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070 8GB graphics. Although the chassis remains the same, the addition of a 12GB RTX 5070 increases the VRAM in the series, a specification that is becoming crucial as modern AAA games require larger texture caches and greater memory capacity.

According to Lenovo’s PSREF listing, this new configuration maintains the same 115W Total Graphics Power (TGP) and 2,347MHz boost clock as the 8GB RTX 5070 model. The main distinction lies in the increase of graphics memory from 8GB to 12GB.
The laptop features an Intel Core i7-14700HX, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Lenovo continues to offer a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display with a 165Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for competitive gaming where higher frame rates are prioritized over higher display resolutions. The notebook is powered by a 60Wh battery and supports 245W rapid charging.
Connectivity options remain consistent as well. The laptop is equipped with a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery, three USB-A ports, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Lenovo’s proprietary charging connector, as illustrated in the product specifications.
The added VRAM could make this configuration a more viable long-term option.
Unlike prior GPU upgrades that mainly focused on boosting raw processing power, this refresh tackles another constraint becoming increasingly evident in modern games: graphics memory.
Recent AAA titles have begun to exceed practical limits of 8GB VRAM, especially when high-resolution textures, ray tracing, and AI-assisted upscaling are enabled simultaneously. While the RTX 5070 12GB maintains the same power budget and clock speeds as the 8GB version, the extra memory should provide greater flexibility in newer titles and help diminish texture streaming challenges at higher graphics settings.
Lenovo has yet to announce pricing or availability for this new configuration, and Notebookcheck mentions that the model is not currently listed for sale.
For those considering a gaming laptop in this category, the revamped LOQ 17IRX10 doesn’t present a new design or a more powerful processor, but it does offer a more balanced GPU configuration that may become increasingly relevant as games demand more graphics memory.
