      Samsung unveiled its latest products at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London, introducing six devices as part of its most extensive hardware refresh in years.       The Z Fold8 Ultra serves as the highlight, featuring an eight-inch main display and measuring just over four millimeters thick when opened, making it the thinnest Galaxy Z Fold to date. Weighing 215 grams, it includes a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 5,000mAh battery powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor.

New software features include My FanCam, which utilizes Galaxy AI to track a selected subject in videos and automatically reframe the footage, along with agentic AI capabilities that allow Gemini to perform multi-step tasks, such as booking a hotel from a photo while the user engages with other apps.

      The Z Flip8 is Samsung’s slimmest and lightest flip phone to date, measuring just over six millimeters when opened and weighing 180 grams. Its main improvement is an extended FlexWindow that serves as a full app interface, allowing users to browse photos, respond to messages, and receive AI-generated daily briefings via Now Brief without needing to open the device. The Flip8 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip, a decision made for recent iterations of the flip series.

      Targeted at athletes and outdoor enthusiasts, the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 boasts the brightest display ever featured on a smartwatch, reaching 5,000 nits. Its 800mAh battery offers 35% more capacity compared to its predecessor and is the first Galaxy Watch to utilize the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform. A new Trail Run feature provides real-time elevation data and climbing progress, along with hydration guidance based on estimated sweat loss. The watch is EN13319 certified and features 10ATM water resistance, making it Samsung’s first watch rated for diving, with advanced underwater capabilities set to be released later this year through a collaboration with diving brand Mares.

      The Galaxy Watch9 focuses on general health monitoring rather than extreme sports, featuring enhanced Sleep Apnea detection, supported by a new FDA clearance and AI algorithms that classify breathing disruptions into three severity levels. Samsung Health has been restructured around five main areas: activity, mindfulness, nutrition, sleep, and vitals, while a new Heart Health Score consolidates multiple biometric signals into a single cardiovascular wellness indicator.

      Both watches utilize Wear OS 7 and One UI 9 built on Android 17, powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, a first for the Galaxy Watch series. Despite a larger battery, the Watch Ultra2 is 12% thinner than its predecessor due to an internal redesign, and its bands have become 26% lighter with a new air pocket structure.

      One of the most surprising announcements was Samsung’s intelligent eyewear, created in collaboration with Google, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker.
