Revolut reaches a valuation of $115 billion and secures a banking license in Australia.

Revolut's valuation has soared to $115 billion following a secondary share sale, reflecting a 53 percent increase from the $75 billion recorded in November 2025. The shares were priced at $2,017 each, making Revolut the world's most valuable private fintech company, outpacing Stripe and rivaling most publicly traded banks in Europe.

Additionally, Revolut announced it has obtained Australia's first full fintech banking license from the Prudential Regulation Authority, becoming the first global fintech to secure an unrestricted authorized deposit-taking institution (ADI) license. This will enable the bank to provide savings accounts, term deposits, and lending products to over one million Australians already using its services. The company plans to invest AUD$400 million in Australia over the next five years.

The secondary sale was backed by returning investors, including Coatue, Greenoaks, Dragoneer, and Fidelity, with contributions from Andreessen Horowitz, Franklin Templeton, T Rowe Price, and Nvidia’s NVentures. This fundraising round allowed existing shareholders and employees to sell parts of their holdings at the newly established price. CEO Nik Storonsky, who owns about a third of the company, might see his personal stake valued at over $36 billion with this new valuation.

Revolut's financial performance has seen significant growth, with a reported revenue of nearly £4.5 billion in 2025, marking a 46 percent year-over-year increase, and a pre-tax profit approaching £2 billion, which is a 57 percent rise. For 2026, the company anticipates revenue of $9 billion and a net profit of $3.5 billion.

These achievements in valuation and regulation were announced within the same week, indicating their interrelation. After receiving its UK banking license from the Prudential Regulation Authority in March 2026, Revolut has applied for a national bank charter in the US. Currently, it holds banking licenses in the UK, the European Economic Area via Lithuania, Mexico, and Australia, with its US application still pending.

Storonsky has indicated that the company's IPO is expected to take place in about two years, likely in the US, where more favorable liquidity and technology-oriented valuations can be found. Sources have revealed that Revolut aims for a valuation of at least $150 billion upon going public, surpassing the combined worth of Barclays, Deutsche Bank, and Societe Generale. The company's emphasis on business banking is intended to demonstrate to institutional investors that Revolut functions as a comprehensive bank rather than merely a consumer payment application.

The Australian license holds particular importance due to APRA's stringent regulatory standards. Revolut stated that its current Australian customers will transition from the existing e-money structure to Revolut Bank Australia, which will provide them with deposit protection through the Financial Claims Scheme. The company serves over 70 million customers in more than 100 countries and has over 500,000 retail customers in Mexico, where it commenced full banking operations in January 2026.

With a $115 billion valuation, Revolut is nearing its anticipated IPO price rather than its initial startup evaluation. Its ability to maintain this growth will depend on how effectively it translates banking licenses into revenue-generating products in its new markets and whether its focus on business banking yields the higher-margin growth that public investors will require.
