Google Contacts adopts a useful iPhone feature to simplify the process of sharing your phone number.
Google has started to roll out a useful update to the Contacts app on Android, making it considerably easier to locate and share your own contact information. Rather than sifting through settings or having to create a separate entry for yourself, there is now a dedicated ‘Your Info’ card located at the top of your contacts list.
This feature provides quick access to your phone number, email addresses, and other personal information, while also offering a more efficient way to share them with others. The update comes with Google Contacts version 4.83.13.940538822 and is being widely distributed (via 9to5Google).
What can you do with the new ‘Your Info’ card?
By tapping the Your Info card, your profile picture, phone numbers, email addresses, and any additional details you have chosen to include will be displayed. If your device is linked to a number, it will be marked as your device number and will automatically be shown first in the list. Alongside your information is a dedicated share button that allows you to send your contact card as a VCard file to anyone who may need it.
You also have the ability to select which information is shared, ensuring you only provide what you intend to. By default, only your device number is shared, keeping all other details private unless you decide otherwise.
Why does this update seem familiar?
If this setup sounds familiar, it's because it resembles a feature that has long existed on iPhones, called My Card, which also occupies the top position in the Contacts app for easy access.
This update follows Google's previous introduction of the Calling Card feature, which allows you to customize how your contact photo and name are displayed during calls. Additionally, Google has released a support page detailing how this feature works as it becomes available to more Android users.

Mozilla’s latest privacy test reveals that Stardust, Flo, and other popular period trackers have failed.
Euki achieved a perfect score, while Stardust received a poor score of 2 in terms of privacy.
Your period tracker may hold some of your most sensitive health information. The crucial question remains regarding its privacy protection. Mozilla has conducted a new privacy review of six well-known period tracking apps, ranking them based on how they collect, store, and share sensitive reproductive health information. One app received a perfect score for maintaining data on your device, while another ranked poorly after it was discovered that it shared users' health data with an analytics firm. These findings come at a time when concern over privacy regarding reproductive health data is increasing, particularly following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in the US.

Apple has increased iPhone prices by up to 11% in Japan.
Apple has adjusted the prices of all iPhones sold through its online store in Japan due to the yen reaching a 40-year low.
The price change affects the iPhone 16, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, with increases of as much as 11.3%. This adjustment follows a month after Apple raised prices for Mac and iPad products globally due to the ongoing memory shortage. This particular price hike, however, appears to be primarily influenced by the declining value of the Japanese yen.
