You can now instruct Waze to stop disrupting your playlist, and I can't believe it took this long.
Fewer interruptions during your music. More intelligent routing based on your preferences. AI that identifies your destination through conversation.
Waze has released five updates simultaneously, and if you've ever experienced the app interrupting your favorite song with a sudden voice prompt, one of these updates is bound to make your day (and lead you to question the delay in this enhancement).
In my view, the Less Chatty mode is likely to be the most talked-about feature, and I find the irony amusing. When activated, it minimizes the frequency and duration of voice prompts, allowing you to concentrate on the music playing.
So, what’s new in Waze today?
However, essential alerts for turns, lane changes, and hazards remain active from a safety perspective, but with fewer interruptions between them. This feature is currently being rolled out globally for both Android and iOS.
In addition, Waze is introducing personalized navigation that adjusts route recommendations based on your driving patterns. If you typically prefer highways over local roads, Waze will recognize this without needing you to repeatedly change its suggestions, and will recommend highways accordingly. This feature is also available globally now.
On the Gemini front, Conversational Reporting is expanding. You can now use it to suggest map updates beyond just traffic incidents, so stating “the road is closed here” will alert map editors for review.
Is motorcycle mode the most overlooked feature in this update?
Destination search is also receiving a Gemini enhancement. It now allows you to request things like “find me the nearest gas station with the lowest prices” and navigate directly from the results. However, this feature is still in beta.
Lastly, the Motorcycle mode utilizes AI routing to consider paths and restrictions specific to two-wheelers. It also highlights hazards such as potholes, speed bumps, raised crosswalks, and narrow bridges.
Currently, this feature is available in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, and the Philippines, with additional countries confirmed to follow.

A modem switch could enhance the Pixel 11 experience. If you’ve ever noticed your Pixel’s signal strength plummet without reason in an area where other phones functioned well, you understand that Google has a modem issue. A new FCC filing indicates that the company might finally address it (via Android Central).

Initially reported by 9to5Google, these listings are believed to be drafts that went live prematurely.
OnePlus is reportedly ceasing operations in the US shortly.
Inventory levels are dwindling, and once it's depleted, OnePlus stock will not be restocked.
In recent months, multiple sources have reported that OnePlus intends to close its operations in the US and withdraw from the European market. OnePlus has consistently denied these claims, asserting that rumors of retail closures and executive changes are merely part of regular business, not indicative of an impending shut down in these key markets. Now, WinFuture reports that the company is set to officially announce its exit from the European and US markets this week. "According to our well-informed sources, OnePlus and its parent company, Oppo, are preparing to announce significant strategic changes this week. What may sound like typical marketing language is actually the exit from critical markets and the end of OnePlus as we've known it," the outlet reports. Furthermore, it states that all remaining OnePlus device inventory is being sold, and once it's gone, it will not be replenished. Most of the stock across OnePlus's European locations is already cleared out.
