Roborock brought the excitement of the FIFA World Cup to Miami, and it was an amazing experience.
World Cup excitement has reached Miami, and I got a taste of it at the renowned Aventura Mall. Robotic vacuum producer Roborock organized a pop-up event there over the weekend, inviting attendees to engage in games, win prizes, and learn about the company’s latest products.
The event, titled "Your Home, Your Stadium," was held in partnership with Roborock's collaborations with Real Madrid and the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Naturally, there was an abundance of Real Madrid merchandise displayed, including a jersey signed by French striker Kylian Mbappe. On the final day of the event, club legend Roberto Carlos from Real Madrid and Brazil made an appearance to meet fans.

Roborock took advantage of the occasion to present its products. Attendees had the chance to explore the current range, including the Saros Z70, capable of picking up small debris with its mechanical arm. Other exhibits included a vacuum lifting an impressive 17.5 pounds solely through suction, and another robot navigating over a small step while cleaning carpet.
I also caught a glimpse of Roborock’s future technology. Its stair-climbing robot isn't entirely new, having been showcased at CES back in January, but it’s still quite remarkable to observe in person. Utilizing a pair of extendable legs, it elevates itself, cleans the stair above, and then climbs to the next level to repeat the process. This particular robot isn't available for sale yet, but production is anticipated to begin soon.
Yes, I kicked a ball around
No soccer-themed event would be complete without an opportunity to kick a ball and win prizes. The first prize-winning opportunity doesn’t actually involve kicking. By scanning a QR code and providing your details, you can spin a wheel to win a bottle opener, pen, or small ball as you enter.

Regarding games, one allowed participants to kick a ball at numbered holes in a wall, with three attempts to hit a target for the chance to win a small prize. Another activity featured a ball hanging on a string outside the display, which you could jump to head. While no prize was awarded for that challenge, regardless of how well you performed, the event also included a living-room-style relaxation area with several soccer-themed table games.
During my time at the booth, representatives from the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired were on hand, including Oseas De Leon, a member of the U.S. international blind soccer team. I had the chance to wear a blindfold and experience blind soccer myself. The ball is designed with objects that produce sound, and players provide audible signals throughout the game. I can attest that it is extremely challenging, and Oseas is a truly impressive athlete.
In summary, it was a delightful experience combining Roborock’s technology showcase with the excitement of the world's largest sport, all set in one of the most vibrant locations on the planet.
