Huawei's slimmest flagship tablet is now available for purchase in Europe.

Huawei has officially launched the MatePad Pro Max in Germany, marking its flagship tablet's entrance into the European market nearly two months after its global release. Targeted as a premium productivity device, the MatePad Pro Max features an ultra-slim design, a high-quality OLED display, desktop-like software functionalities, and bundled accessories tailored for professionals and creators.

The tablet is priced starting at €1,099 for the Space Gray version, while the PaperMatte Edition with the Glide Keyboard is available for €1,299. Additionally, Huawei is offering free accessories and an extended warranty for early purchasers.

Huawei achieves exceptional thinness and lightweight design

Huawei asserts that the MatePad Pro Max is the thinnest and lightest tablet in its class globally. With a thickness of only 4.7mm at its slimmest point and a weight of 499 grams for the standard model, the tablet is engineered for easy portability without sacrificing durability.

Despite its slender form, Huawei claims the device exhibits 60 percent greater resistance to bending compared to its predecessor and is the first tablet to obtain the TÜV Rheinland Ultra-thin Bending Resistance Certification.

The tablet features a 13.2-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte display with a resolution of 3000×2000, a refresh rate of 144Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Huawei's nano-level etching technology minimizes reflections and glare, enhancing usability outdoors or in bright lighting. The slim 3.55mm bezels also contribute to an impressive 94 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Internally, the MatePad Pro Max operates on HarmonyOS 4.3, which includes features like Live Multitask, allowing users to run up to three apps at once. Huawei has also included a PC-like version of WPS Office, equipped with AI-powered tools for editing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, solidifying the tablet's role as a viable laptop alternative.

Connectivity options comprise Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NearLink, and USB-C 3.1, while the 10,400mAh battery supports 66W fast charging and 40W wired reverse charging for compatible accessories.

The optional Glide Keyboard features six rows of keys, 1.8mm key travel, and a built-in charging slot for the M-Pencil Pro, further enhancing the tablet’s productivity capabilities.

      Significant freebies for purchasers

Huawei is providing substantial launch incentives for buyers. Customers who purchase the MatePad Pro Max through the Huawei Online Store or the company’s flagship store in Berlin before July 31 will receive a 12-month extended warranty, a complimentary pair of FreeBuds Pro 4, the M-Pencil Pro, and a €100 discount voucher.

With Apple and Samsung maintaining a stronghold on the premium tablet market, Huawei appears to be banking on the combination of premium hardware, productivity-centric software, and attractive launch offers to differentiate the MatePad Pro Max. Although the absence of Google services may be a concern for some users, the tablet presents an appealing option for those already part of Huawei’s ecosystem or seeking a competent alternative to traditional laptops.
