Nothing provides a sneak peek of the Phone 4b before its launch on July 7.
The new entry-level device merges the unibody design of the 4a Pro with the Glyph bar from the standard 4a and is scheduled for release on July 7.
Nothing has officially unveiled the design of its forthcoming budget phone, the Phone 4b, marking the beginning of a new series aimed at making the brand’s smartphone offerings more accessible. The company shared an official image showcasing the device in a blue color option and confirmed its launch date as July 7.
A combination of two existing designs
The Phone 4b integrates the unibody structure of the Phone 4a Pro with the Glyph Bar light strip from the Phone 4a. Nothing describes the combined design as a more youthful and targeted interpretation of its transparent design aesthetic.
Unlike the Phone 4a, which features a transparent back panel revealing internal components, the Phone 4b resembles the Pro model more closely, with internal elements visible only in the camera section, while the rest of the back is solid. The company states that the frame of the device seamlessly integrates with the back housing and includes a soft, skin-friendly finish for comfort during prolonged use.
Specifications remain undisclosed
Nothing has not disclosed details regarding the processor, camera, or battery for the Phone 4b, but it is expected to release more information as the July 7 launch approaches. This announcement follows a teaser from last week that hinted at the device's name and provided a glimpse of its design.
The Phone 4b arrives just after Nothing canceled plans for a CMF Phone 2 Pro successor due to rising storage and RAM costs. With the confirmation of the Phone 4b, it appears that this more affordable device will be launched under the main Nothing brand rather than CMF.
There are no details yet on pricing or availability, leaving it uncertain how the Phone 4b will fit within the company’s overall lineup. However, the inclusion of ‘b’ in its name suggests it may be positioned below the Phone 4a series as a budget-friendly option.

I reviewed the Prime Day budget phone deals, and these two stand out as good buys.
Google is the wiser long-term choice, while Motorola offers the most affordable phone option for basic everyday use.
Budget phone deals can often turn out to be disappointing traps during Prime Day, as low prices can cloud common sense. An inexpensive phone still requires sufficient storage, decent battery life, a functional camera, and adequate performance to avoid becoming obsolete by Halloween. These two deals are sensible for different reasons: the Pixel 10a is the superior all-around Android purchase, while the Moto G Play is the cheapest option here that still serves a clear purpose.

Google will allow alternative billing options in the Play Store for users in the US, UK, and EU beginning June 30.
The next time you subscribe to a service or make an in-app purchase on Android, you may find that you no longer have to use Google Play's billing system. Beginning June 30, developers in the US, UK, and Europe will have the option to provide additional payment methods for digital purchases in the Google Play Store. This may lead some apps to direct users to their own websites or to offer alternative checkout options instead of relying solely on Google Play Billing.

The iPhone 18 Pro may not be as expensive as anticipated, but caution is still advisable.
J.P. Morgan indicates that the potential price increase for the iPhone 18 Pro may be less than feared.
Last week, Tim Cook stated that Apple hardware prices, including those of iPhones, are likely to rise since the company is running out of ways to manage increasing costs. The primary concern is memory, with prices for RAM and storage surging significantly across the tech sector. This has led to worries that the iPhone 18 Pro could see a substantial price hike. However, recent research from J.P. Morgan suggests a less alarming scenario. A screenshot of the firm's estimates shared by Max Weinbach on X indicates that Apple might offset some of the memory cost increases through savings in other areas.
