Radiant Monitor 2 adopts a sunlit strategy to address the issues of glare and power consumption.
This monitor designed for sunlight aims to enhance your laptop setup by making it feel less like a cave.
For most laptop screens, sunlight poses a significant challenge. On bright days, they struggle, and you often find yourself searching for some shade. However, the Radiant Monitor 2 adopts a different strategy. Eazeye’s latest portable monitor features a 15.6-inch transflective LCD, which harnesses ambient light to boost visibility instead of completely relying on a backlight.
In well-lit environments, the backlight can be switched off, reducing power usage to approximately 3W. Sunlight becomes an asset for the display rather than a hindrance to your screen.
Similar to a Kindle, but not quite

If you've used E-ink devices from Amazon or Boox, you may find this idea familiar. Kindles, Kindle Scribe models, and Boox’s ePaper tablets and displays utilize reflective, paper-like screens that perform well in bright lighting and consume minimal energy. The Radiant Monitor 2 embraces a similar user-friendly concept, but it is not an E Ink monitor. Instead, it uses a transflective LCD, offering a 60Hz refresh rate, a 5ms response time, and smoother motion than standard ePaper screens.
This makes it more suitable for various laptop tasks such as browsing, working with spreadsheets, and general multitasking. However, it will not entirely function like a traditional IPS or OLED portable monitor. The display is Full HD, has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and Eazeye lists the viewing angles at 65 degrees both horizontally and vertically, which is narrower compared to typical mainstream LCD panels.
Not exactly lightweight
Eazeye
The Radiant Monitor 2 also features 10-point capacitive touch, USB-C and HDMI connectivity, a magnetic folio case, and a 75 x 75mm VESA mount. It can operate at up to 8W with the backlight set to maximum brightness, and Eazeye claims that its enhanced full-spectrum LED backlight is optimized for improved performance in low-light conditions.
Weighing in at 1.77kg, this is not a particularly light piece of equipment. It's relatively heavy for a 15.6-inch portable monitor, so it’s not something you can easily toss in your bag and forget about. The cost of the Radiant Monitor 2 is $789, not including shipping, duties, or taxes.

The Accentum Clip could enhance the appeal of open-ear earbuds for music enthusiasts.
Sennheiser's new open-ear earbuds promise robust bass without isolating users from their environment.
Open-ear earbuds are growing rapidly in the personal audio space. They provide a comfortable fit while allowing users to remain aware of their surroundings, making them ideal for commuting, exercising, or working in shared environments. The downside has typically been sound quality; without forming a seal in the ear, open-ear designs usually fail to deliver the bass and immersion expected from conventional earbuds. Sennheiser claims that the Accentum Clip aims to overcome that issue, promoting these clip-style earbuds as capable of providing stronger bass, clear vocals, and balanced treble.
