Apple has made it clear that Siri AI will not serve as your romantic partner. The answer is No.

Siri AI is becoming increasingly intelligent, but don’t expect it to serve as a soulmate.

During the latest WWDC event, Apple highlighted the various advancements Siri has made. It has grown more intelligent, engaging in conversations, and becoming more useful across different applications. However, the company aims to ensure that Siri does not transition into an actual companion. In a discussion with Mostly Human, Apple’s software head Craig Federighi and marketing head Greg Joswiak addressed the company’s AI strategy and Siri’s role in a landscape saturated with chatbots.

      Establishing limits for Siri

When questioned about the possibility of users creating an AI partner with Siri, Federighi firmly responded with a no. Although this question may appear to be light-hearted and harmless at first, the response carries significant importance, particularly in today’s AI environment. Numerous AI products are promoting companionship, emotional attachment, and prolonged conversations designed to keep users engaged. In contrast, Apple is intent on defining a clearer boundary for Siri.

Siri AI has transformed into a more capable assistant. It no longer struggles with basic follow-up questions. At WWDC 2026, Apple unveiled Siri AI, a reimagined version of the assistant powered by Apple Intelligence. This updated assistant can comprehend personal context, respond to inquiries about on-screen content, search through messages, emails, photos, and other applications, as well as leverage extensive web knowledge for current answers. Additionally, a new standalone Siri app has been introduced, allowing users to revisit previous conversations across Apple devices.

      Apple

On iPhone, Siri AI can be accessed via the side button, "Hey Siri," or by swiping down from the Dynamic Island. For Mac and iPad, Apple is integrating Siri AI into Spotlight and context menus, enhancing its utility for files, images, text, and documents.

      Emphasis on usefulness, not dependence

Joswiak further noted that Apple does not want users to become "prompt experts" just to take advantage of AI, which aligns with the company's ethos. Apple has always aimed to create a more seamless and user-friendly experience, and Siri should benefit from this approach. If executed correctly, Apple users may turn to the assistant for increasingly specific inquiries. The only current limitation is availability; Apple claims that Siri AI features are now available for developer testing on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and visionOS 27, with a user beta expected later this year for compatible devices set to English. For now, China is excluded, and iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch users in the EU will also have to wait.

Scammers utilized Gemini AI to conduct a vast phishing operation, resulting in a lawsuit from Google.

Google has initiated legal action against an AI scam network responsible for sending millions of fraudulent texts and creating thousands of counterfeit websites.

The suspicious messages about unpaid tolls, delayed packages, or expiring rewards points may no longer be the work of an individual scammer. These scam texts have been inundating American phones for several years, but a shift has occurred. Google claims that artificial intelligence is enabling scammers to orchestrate larger and more convincing operations than ever. The company has filed a lawsuit against a cybercrime group that used Gemini AI to design phishing websites and carry out an extensive scam campaign targeting millions of users.

Wikipedia has transformed "On This Day" into an amusingly nerdy daily game.

For decades, Wikipedia has been the internet's go-to destination for curious minds. You might visit to verify a single fact, only to find yourself engrossed in a web of information about ancient empires, little-known inventors, or long-forgotten battles. Now, the online encyclopedia is embracing that inquisitiveness with a new game for iPhone users — which might be one of its cleverest ideas to date. Named "Which came first?" the new feature has launched in the latest version of Wikipedia’s iOS app, following its debut on Android. The premise is simple yet engaging: players are presented with a series of historical events and must identify which one occurred first. Each day features five questions, with every event linked to something that happened on the same date in history. In a time when mobile games often require relentless grinding, battle passes, or dubious notifications, there’s something refreshing about a game that simply challenges you to think for a moment.

I attempted to blur a face in iOS 27, but my iPhone generated a new face instead.

Apple sought to enhance the Clean Up feature, but it now causes your iPhone to generate fake faces like candy.

The Clean Up feature was introduced with the iOS 18.1 update, primarily designed to remove unwanted objects from photos, and also to hide faces. Users could circle a face, and the feature would automatically blur it—dubbed Identity Protection by Apple.
